Yup, that's why we keep beaters in the rotation. I would happily take a $4500 Omega AT on vacation and scratch up the bracelet and bezel on desks, tables, pools whatever and give zero fuks.

I would NOT be doing that with $40,000+ precious metal piece. Those are strictly for "going out". A thickass hamilton case on strap visually nicer than a president is jokes.

i love how in the video he goes "I don't wanna be cliche and ask for the snowflake". I've literally never ever seen a grand seiko in the wild lol.

Edit: also wanted to reply to this. The blnr was my must haz as well, but the longer i wore this DJ it went from very like to a potential love. The only thing missing, is the exact configuration i want (which is the SS with blue dial).

Realizing then the black/white SDs sold for trivial premiums over msrp+tax price… made me realize getting one is a very real possibility. That essentially killed my pursuit for the BLNR, because the DJ would give me my jubilee/blue dial fix and sky dweller would give me my GMT fix. The only way i would get a gmt now is when i am in fact ready to drop 40k on the 126715

Yup on all accounts. When i looked, the blue combo for a DJ i was looking at was at barely any premium. And it used to be in the 12-13k range. I've had the exact combo on wrist, except it was chocolate (i think) dial. And absolutely loved the "Feel" of it. I'd love to get the BLNR on the wrist just to see. If there's one thing i've learned, it's that seeing things in person is drastically different than pics online.

And yes….that all rose gold GMT….fuark. It's the "right" gold for me that isnt white.

The ball is actually really nice. I like the seconds hand and the lume is insane on the balls. The tissot looked like a fun watch. I think he ****ed up getting 5 watches though. Lettuce be real tea, you’ll end up only wearing 1 or 2 and the others will eventually fall out of rotation

What would you guys get for $30k?

I’d go with a blnr and a blue dial dj36 fluted on jubilee

I have a Submariner and Yachtmaster. I don’t hate Rolex. You can criticize the brand without trolling them. You can’t even get a new Rolex in the store right now, prices are all inflated like crazy, and recent releases have been pretty dull. Cope.

Put one on, and if you don't think it wears like a woman's watch, you have legit twink status wrists. ded fkn srs

I have PCL on 2 (3 if you count OF clasp) and the scratches don't bother me one bit. It's one of those things that you really only pay attention to if you're looking for them. Regular daily wear and they look great. Brushed scratches up as well. Maybe I'll do a side by side when I have a chance.

Been eyeing one since it came out, but it's a lot of money and I don't know how much wrist time it will get. It's imo the best looking DD right now. My friend was offered one and didn't want it, and I was really close to pulling the trigger. Probably should have since that was like a year ago and the prices are much higher now.

prices now are insane. EWC just listed a VC Overseas blue for 35k… They also have a Lange Datograph 1st gen (the Dufourgraph) incoming to be listed to 85k.. freckin passed on one for 45k in 2019. wondering if the bloodbath in the stock market continues it will have an impact on watch prices

Just because something was the norm, doesn't mean it's still the norm or any less ridiculous now.

Look, I have smaller wrists, I tried on the dj36 and immediately took it off. Didn't even close the clasp. It somehow made my wrists look smaller lol. I tried on the 41 and knew instantly it was perfect. Trust me, I would have loved to have saved a couple g's going with the smaller version, but it looked silly.

My wrist is 6.75" and I wear 40mm no problem, but I sometimes find myself wondering ifI should go 36mm in a gold model. It wears incredibly well.

I just learned that the dj41 is actually 39.5mm without the crown. It’s 41mm WITH the crown. What in the actual fuk rolex. It should be the dj39 or 40

The crown itself is about 3mm, so that doesn't add up. But in general Rolex are off with their measurements, just like the 41mm Sub isn't actually 41mm. It's a fraction larger than the 40mm.

This is why you shouldnt fret over 1mm or 2mm difference really. It's also how it "looks." I scoffed at a speedy at first because it was "42mm." Put one on the wrist and it wears like a 40. My theory is because the dial takes up most of the space on the wrist and you dont have a chunky case coming off the sides.

My little khaki field auto from Hamilton is….37 or 38? And wears great on my just shy of 7" wrist. And oddly enough, it has gotten the most random compliments out of everything i wear. Yes that includes rolex, omega, and longines.

To be fair, this also works in reverse as well.

The increasing size trend is ridiculous in my opinion. And watches just become gawdy.

I'd take an old school 36mm DD or DJ anyday.

I know the feeling. I thought the 43mm seadweller would just be ridiculous on the wrist. But it really isnt. Here it is compared to the 40mm sub.

and while I love the 43mm I also love my 38.5mm Aqua Terra.

I have to see this one in person i think. I saw the olive green dial on an OP and it didn't seem as cool as i thought it would. I think that has something to do with it lacking the contrast of the rose gold, since the OP only had the green dial against the silver casing.

I think it makes the dial pop though, so it's actually pretty awesome.
