I don't want to get in the middle of this, but he can put your name on the warranty if you care about it (tell them it's a gift etc.), or put any other name and the warranty is still valid. As long as the AD swipes the card, which they will, the watch has a 5 year warranty no matter who owns it.

Basically this. No matter what, the warranty is 5 years. They dont check your name if for some reason it needs service.

Also prolly better for Chino if it stays off the web for sale as well.

Just saw a Watch Eric video where he was showing off the AP Diver. And I didn't think I'd care for it at first. But it really does look amazing.

would definitely rock that. He said he got his for 13k at whole sale…and of course on DavidSW it's 25k.

The blue dial Royal Oak is amazing. But this would probably scratch that itch, without hurting the wallet quite as bad.

And on another note still waiting for Crown and Caliber to get back with me to give me their final offer on the sub. Hopefully it'll be tomorrow.

Had the offer from crown and caliber in my spam folder lol they didn’t knock the price down from their initial estimate so got 11k for it.

Gonna be patient and try my best to replace the sub with something I’ll love as much as I’m loving the SD43.

It was hard accepting the offer, kept second guessing whether I should sell or not. But if I’m patient and am able to replace it with what I have in mind it’ll be worth it.

Yeah it’s crazy. My game plan to get it or one of the other models I want is to just go into the AD once a month until they get tired of seeing my face lol

And gonna play the “I really want it to celebrate my 30th birthday milestone” lol

I like the AP diver a lot, I’d buy the one with the see through caseback. Waterproof AP with a beautifully finished watch movement with the gold rotor. The AP, even though it’s a diver, still isn’t as much of a tool watch as a submariner though, and the case is so perfectly finished that it isn’t something that can just be polished up and you have a new looking watch, so scratches hurt ALOT more with the AP than a submariner. Plus services are more expensive and often, and I’m not sure how well an AP ROO diver holds onto its value compared to a submariner… basically it’s in the next league up, not just in price, but all of the costs associated with ownership. That being said, I think it seems a lot more special than a submariner… I want one

That's a lot of good info. I didn't know they had to be serviced more often and more expensive to service. Wonder what the cost for a service is, and how often you typically need to get one serviced?

Also I decided to sell my Aqua Terra to Crown and Caliber. I paid 4k for it, and they gave me $3,700 for it. So not a big hit. Gonna completely revamp the collection. That money along with what I got for my sub will go a long way I think. And tbh after wearing the SD43 everyday, I much prefer a bigger watch. The 38.5 was just a bit small, and I don't think it'd get much wear anymore.

That's what I have my eyes set on. But those grey market prices…oof gonna need to put a little bit of effort into trying to get one at retail instead of impulsively ordering one.

The SD43, BLNR, and Green Bezel sub would be my ideal sports model line up. And after that I'd probably move up to a Daytona, then a PM piece. That's lifetime goals. But maybe if I show an interest in getting a number of watches like that they'll work with me knowing I'll be a decent customer and not a flipper. But that's wishful thinking of course, I'm sure I'm poor af compared to some of their customers.

11k for your TT sub and 3700 for the AT and youre basically there. Im keeping my eye on their prices. If they creep to the 15k range im jumping.

Same. 15k all day I'm in.

You'd jump on 15k for a used one? Or brand new one?

There's been a couple on DavidSW for the past week. So idk if they're selling as quickly anymore at current prices. Maybe a price drop will come soon.

15K for a Jubilee model in good condition/like new.

With the ADs in my small area, im not going to buy enough BS to get the call for a BLNR so to me, im saving a chit ton of $$.

I don't know if you've handled the 5 digit models before, but if you got into Rolex with the 6 digits, you'll be in for a shock with the clasp quality on the 5 digits. I like the older 5 digits, but after getting accustomed to the new clasps, I just can't do it.

That honestly was my worry with them. They feel like a solid Fossil watch from JCPenney?

Amen, the bracelet / clasp of the 5 digits are the biggest let down IMO, especially considering what they're trading for now. I binned the idea of a birth year Rolex

If you could get one of the older models and just put an aftermarket oyster or jubilee on it that’d be ideal. But supposedly Rolex is good at preventing them from fitting.

The bracelet is one of the biggest selling points for me. So any older model is a no go for me.

And also I need that 70 hour power reserve.

Most omegas look sick in photos. The problem is how they look once you get them on wrist. At least that has been my experience.

I love the look and feel of the new speedmasters and aquaterras on wrist, but every other model I can only describe as "cantankerous".

It's a shame the perpetual calendars @$35k
are the only good looking big pilots. This is 48mm but newer models are 46mm and I'd definitely consider trying to rock one of them. Chrono is 44.5mm and doesn't look comically large.

Srs question. Do Sea Dwellers / DSD's retain value like other models? Know someone selling a current model for retail and am unsure how that would fair in terms of depreciation.

Can't remember if posted here already, but i received this gift from my dad a couple of months ago. His 1989 Day Date. I'm proud to own it and take it out of the box and try it on frequently but not sure if i'll ever wear it out.
