I get this, but im fascinated by micro shots and how much people give a rip about them.

BRB carrying around a microscope and monocle so i can show off the finishing on my $30,000 watch that no one outside of a WIS knows it is a $30,000 watch.

Time to start selling magnifying lenses that snap onto the tops of watch cases so people can fully appreciate the finishing

I don’t think many Grand Seikos get into that range but it might even be an accurate statement for A. Lange & Sohne. Surely better known than Grand Seiko, but I bet you could spend $20k on a Saxonia and 98% of random people would be oblivious

Then again I think even Patek wasn’t well known to normies until pretty recently eh? Most people’s concept of expensive watches stops at Rolex and maybe AP for those who are a bit more into this stuff

Yup. Wasnt talking about GS but more so the AL&S, patek, AP, etc. Very few people "know" what theyre looking at.

Hell, i had some teammates on a social sports team of mine looking at my Air King and couldnt understand how to read it at first because it had the minute markers. I said "you didnt even notice what you were looking at did you." Got bert stared then go a "oh chit."

That sounds like fun though honestly. If you’re into watches, it would be neat for people to not realize what they’re looking at until you elaborate and blow their minds. Almost like a conversation piece.

And then if someone notices and recognizes what it is without explanation, you already know they’re cool

LMAO. just read this. Im more and more convinced were related or living in different universes.

My older brother (about 10 years older) is 180* opposite of me personality wise. He's introverted, computer programmer, long hair, hippie type guy who makes Bernie sanders seem like a right wing nutjob. Im convinced, after the last time i saw him, he rarely brushes his teeth, doesnt own anything but jeans with holes in them, and probably still has the same pair of combat boots from high school. Oh…and he's vegan. Like…hard fukking core…vegan.

I've always been one of those "get a random pic of a european city from amazon and frame it" type of people that knew nothing about art UNTIL I started seeing 1 of 1 pieces in colleagues' homes. Seeing the detail, brushstrokes, and all that hits completely different when you're outside a museum.

I like to stay on brand breh…

But yeah, my brother isn't exactly smart enough to be a programmer, but he is artistic enough to run off to another country and not care about being poor. My theory has always been that he has "michael jackson-syndrome". My dad was a fuking hardass bluecollar tradie, and was SUPER rough on my older brother as the first born son, and i feel like he's been running away from adulthood/responsibility ever since. ANYways. That's enough derailing for one day lol.

Buying up gold/green face daytonas and platinum daytonas for when they get discontinued in a few days.

Maximum gains

Semi disappointed brahs, been looking at aqua Terra's on chrono24, Jomashop, authenticwatches etc getting myself hyped up to buy one. But I wanted to buy it from an AD. The 2 omega AD'S in my city have it advertised for $8800AUD / $6412USD.

Comparing that to the ones online which are all between 5400-5800 AUD / $4200 USD. plus taxes. I have no idea how much taxes are on these, thinking like 10%? Which even so is still miles cheaper than the AD.

I messaged the AD and asked if they had room to move on the price (as you guys suggest here) and they said there is room to move on that piece. But God dam, would have to be a lot of room to compare with the online watches.

If you can't get 20-25% off an Omega at an AD you're getting cucked hard.

This. Owners of mine wouldnt discount a speedy, but it was basically stated to me by the SA at the time that they could easily do 10-15% off. If you were a previous customer, 20-25 was the norm.

You all should also mention to him an Omega AD does not necessarily mean an Omega Boutique. Everyone and their nan was sayin 20% off is the norm, 15% off is the norm, 25% off is the norm. Then when I mentioned the Omega boutique only offered me 5% off, everyone was like "Well duh, boutiques never discount" lmao fuks sake.

Interesting they’d bring back the oyster on blnr after just discontinuing it. Either way hype, maybe that means they'll make more of the BLNR this year…doubtful but one can dream.

Still waiting on the explorer leaks. That'll probably be the most affordable release on the secondary market maybe.

Releases are being announced at 6am eastern time tomorrow.

So the explorer II stayed the same, but with the new movement. Boring.

And explorer I only coming in 36mm now.

I thought that was weird too, hopefully it might bring the Gray market prices down? (Pls)

Timepiece gentlemen reckon the gold/green daytona will be discontinued, they've stock piled like 6 of em and maybe a new rainbow piece

I hope so too. And the gold green Daytona wasn’t discontinued so he lost that bet.

Explorer 39mm was the only model discontinued.
