You guys ignoring the real star of the show.
Rolex showing why they're still the leader. They could have just done a simple military/forest green, or just ported over the olive green dial from daydate and oyster perpetual. Instead they made this gorgeous fuking motif.
I've always scoffed at the idea of anyone ever considering a datejust in the smooth bezel, oyster bracelet configuration. However, that green motif is so nice to look at, i feel the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet would distract from it. Rolex wisely only applied it to their 36mm datejusts because 1) the 41s are already selling like hot cakes, and 2) the motif dials proooobably would be a bit too much on the 41 mm dials.
I would never buy one because its too small, and the design falls squarely into "fashion", but i would not be surprised to see the $7,000 oyster bracelet/smooth bezel config shown above going for 12,000 to 14,000 on the grey market in short order. fuark, and you just know the individual leaflets in the dial are going to scatter light differently too. gonna be so hnnnnnng

That's what we said about the oyster perpetuals in the previous release, yet I still haven't even seen one in person because they're sold before the ADs can even unbox the shipment.
That tiffany dial oyster perpetual selling for a SS sky-dweller's msrp right now. Fuking crazy.
Edit: In fact, just e-mailed the stacy that fuked me on the blue dial about being interested in the 36mm datejust in the smooth bezel, jubilee bracelet configuration. I would rock the fuk out of that AND I know the price is gonna probably double in 6 months time.

I’m more interested in the steel sports though. For my personal taste.

I feel you. I like Rolex steel sports, but I was a hater of the brand for a LONG time because i didn't understand the hype for them relative to adequate alternatives.

The only steel sports of rolex i really had a hard on for was the sky dweller for the cool complication, and the jubilee blnr because the color combo paired with the bracelet were so sexy. The sub, explorer 2, deepsea, sea dweller… I'll never understand because the newest aqua terras are every bit as well made and aesthetically pleasing to me, they just don't have "THE CROWN" on the dial.
What softened me up to the brand was accepting the fact that it's less of a haute horology "get it under a loupe" brand, and more of a status/fashion/jewelry brand. So for my watch collection needs (excluding the 126715), point me to ALL the jubilee bracelets and "fashion dials" since they have god-tier value retention.

If this watch was even remotely achievable at msrp, it would obliterate any other piece in terms of value.

Pretty underwhelming from Rolex this year, the oyster pepsi is nice but obviously will be impossible to get.
Tudor on the other hand.. the sterling silver BB58 and the 18k BB58 take the cake for me, they seem really good value considering the insane market atm. I assume the gold model will have waiting lists at that money but we shall see

We’ll have to keep an eye on DavidSW and see how long it takes for them to get the new stock and what they’re listed at.
Still holding out hope the BLNR eventually drops into the 15s. But now not sure if I want Jubilee or Oyster.

Im wondering if now having the option for both Jubilee or Oyster will "help" or hurt grey prices.

The gold and green tudor is compelling, but would be a frosty day in hell before i spent $15,000 on a tudor. The poor man's daytona and
silver
cased BB58 on the other hand…

The bronze a hefty 43mm case, but the strap has zero taper. This silver case is that perfect 39mm size, AND the strap it comes with tapers down for a more comfortable fit. Mirin'

I wasn't interested in the blnr until it was released on jubilee, so that's where my eyes are still set. I'm somewhat curious if the added bracelet option will help soften prices, but we all know it comes down to supply. So i guess we'll see.

No kidding. I like the jubilee option better after seeing actual pics of it on wrists from various angles.

But like i said i stand corrected on their other releases. They didnt do a great job of pointing you to the "new for 2021" chit all in one place on the website. The Sky Dweller on Jubilee is arousing to me.

And, i did get a chance to put a white face one on my wrist. AD had one where the date function didnt work (wasnt adjustable). Was shocked how light it felt given size/girth.

I had the owners email where he sent me the bank wire information. So about 3 weeks after I made the purchase I thought about it, and sent an email thanking him for the watch and mentioned a couple other watches I'd be interested in. Never got a response back lmao so not gonna do that again.
