Alright boys need advice.

Lost big time today, bought way too high on BCH pump and didnt get out before dump.

Currently at -50% of my stack.

Do I cut my losses and sell out of BCH or hope there is another bitcoin dip and sell out then?

newly posted on charlie lee's twitter:
The BCH pump in the past few days is super impressive. I should have kept my BCH!

I still don't think BCH can compete with BTC long term, but markets can stay irrational for a long time. I'm glad there's a blockchain for big blockers though. Hopefully, resulting in less drama.

--

To be honest, BCH can compete well against LTC to be Bitcoin's silver. But their arrogance wouldn't let settle for second. Their current strategy is winner take all against Bitcoin, and they will lose because of these reasons:

Perpetual onchain scaling destroys decentralization

Without decentralization, you lose censorship resistance. Censorship resistance is what gives Bitcoin value. Without that, it's just PayPal 2.0, which is not revolutionary.

BCH also has a very weak dev team when compared to Bitcoin Core. It's like high school team against pros.

BCH also has brand confusion. That's why people refer to it as Bcash. That's honestly a better name than Bitcoin Cash, which is a mouthful. But BCH supporters would never accept not being called Bitcoin. Because they believe it's the real Bitcoin.

BCH also uses the same address space. So much confusion. This hurts everyone.

Given all that, the only possible outcome is that one coin will go to $0 in the long term. My bet is obviously on Bitcoin. All the short term price movement doesn't really matter. I'm not trading it.

about 1265$ -ish is support level, from here you need to see if it bounces back up then it could hit 1500-1600$ if it doesn't bounce back up it will go to 850-950$

Wasn't on the misc, should have.

Feels ****ing bad to have spent so much time looking at crypto and made a lot of gains only to be washed away in a an hour of stupidity.

Gonna sell out and put it all into walton and never check it for a year.

am sorry brah. I still expect a few more days of red for btc to get to 5k and then bottom. but I dunno what bcash will do in the meantime, its sitting at a 50% retracement from its high so I guess wait and see which way it breaks from here. if you get near enough your break even tho then id get out.

and dont put all your eggs in one basket ffs.

the people who brag about making profits never actually call their trades. so what is the point in coming here to say that? If you want to be helpful call a trade and let miscers decide if they'd like to match.

I wanted to cancel the outting so bad, but I didn't since I had already bailed on them a couple of times on previous weekends. Sold since I didn't want to leave everything on BCH on such a crazy weekend and historic event (overtaking Ethereum). Then I made the big mistake of checking on my phone and when I saw that the price was at 2300 I FOMOed and when I got home I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price at 1300 on Bittrex and that the Korean exchange driving all this was down.

At that point though, there was no way in hell I was going to sell at a loss of $10 000 and decided to whether the storm. Deep down though I was I was obviously pulling my hairs out, but now that Bithumb is back up the price skryocketed back up to 1750 and I fking hope it keeps going up to my buy in point.

What a fking night. H-O-L-Y FK.

Hold me brahs
If you're losing 10k you threw circa 20k at BCH just like that. Not sure if mirin courage or astounded at the blind throw.

Either way, it may go down more and the bags get heavier or you could wait for another pump just to not sell at a loss but who knows when that coming?

Other miscers who are more experienced can advise you there.

Saw a comment on reddit about Roger Ver moving his funds, and it makes the most sense from what I've seen so far:
Roger Ver knows that there are eyes on his wallet, and he's also buddies with the exchange. If he wanted to credit his account with $150M USD worth of BTC, he would have given them a paper wallet IOU - not a publicly viewable transaction across the network.

I trust that Ver is savvy enough to dollar cost average, and wouldn't dump all of his BTC holdings at once. To do so would simply be a terrible financial decision - especially as BTC rides close to its all time high. That means there's no reason to move all of his BTC across the network at once, unless he wants people to notice it.

What we're seeing is a market manipulation that can only occur in a blockchain where you can see the moves that other actors are making. The first conclusion of Ver's coins moving to an exchange is "Ver is selling his coins". This is what he wants you to think.

The second, and I imagine far more rational conclusion, is that Ver is moving his coins in a public way to make people believe that he is about to sell his coins. Since Ver is an outspoken advocate of BCH, this will have a market effect where day traders sell BTC (to avoid the 'pending dump') and buy BCH (to profit from the 'pending pump').
Ver's not about to dump $150M worth of BTC for BCH because doing so would be one of the least rational decisions that he could possibly make.

Interesting, so now if BCH price goes up a lot, the miners will stay there?

If not, some will come back to BTC but that shouldnt cause a price crash?

Follow at your own risk, I am on a mission so I am being risky, but I am 100% in BCH and was targeting 4.5 as the bottom, bought back in at 4.75 and 5. Expecting a big pump (might be not a pump, more like a flippening) but that could take hours to come. its like 9 hours till shanghai wakes back up. So we could be looking at a new top later tonight today. You might see some good buy opportunities a little later if this goes sideways/down in the meantime. Again, this is VERY uncharted territory, but there are strong signs that BCH might really be the wish of the miners and could execute a flippening of epic proportions.

What really just got me thinking was that coinbase has everyones BCH from before aug 1st. They may have been against it before, but think about the outcome if BCH wins. Coinbase can just give everyone their BCH come Jan and look like good guy gary for protecting its customers from this flippening. Some will be burned who bought in after Aug 1st. But Its something to consider.
