What would you do?
Sbdb009 (the new version with enhanced lume)
Or
The new sbdx014 (golden tuna)
The spring drive version is about $2-300 more for a much more interesting movement. Servicing would be tougher and more expensive. The gliding second hand is amazing on it. It's the one watch I most regret flipping.
The golden tuna is the only lower end watch I like gold on. I think the golden accents look great. It's bigger than the spring drive, and that's not a bad thing here.

Excitedly came into the thread to say that I just, for the first time in my watch collecting life, saw another speedy pro in real life. It was briefly in passing in Costco.

I'm not a fan of kinetic watches. I feel I need another tuna in my life.

Recommend me a watch to replace my broken Orient Ray
Want to keep it around 40mm
Automatic
Under $300
Steel Bracelet
Good Lume
Small skeleton display if possible
And an upgrade from the Orient Ray

Something about the bezel on the monster just doesn't seem right.
Any other recommendations?

Sold my IWC over the weekend. Owned it for 8 years. Been thinking about selling it for a few months now and was trying to sell it for about a week. Dont plan on getting anything to replace it. Atleast not for now. Just came to realize I never wore it.

^ My dad's Mercedes CLS63 AMG used to have an IWC clock. I didn't even know it was an expensive watch company at the time so I never appreciated it. I've been looking into IWCs a lot recently though, they're beautiful.

The 1st IWC AMG watch came out in 2006 during the collaboration of the CLS55 AMG. The first IWC Mercedes relationship was shortlived and it ended after 1 generation until recently when IWC released a new ceramic IWC AMG watch (non-chrono).
I love the way the new version looks. But I think I am done with IWCs for a while. I had quite a few problems with my IWC during my ownership of it. Some of the problems within the 1st 2 months of ownership. None of them related to the actual watch though.
The kevlar strap that came with the watch deteriorated to the point where I couldnt wear it anymore. It deteriorated so much that IWC replaced it for free. And this happened during the 1st 2 months. The 12 O'clock marker came loose somehow also 2 years ago. This happened when I didnt even wear the watch for around 2 years and left it in a box.
The watch itself worked great and never had problems keeping time. IWC's service was also quick and friendly. Much of it was done for free, even the 12 Oclock marker coming loose after 5 years of ownership.
I would like to try something else though when the time comes.

i like the champagne dial, black, blue in that order. but they all look great.
what color is your suit or usual work attire? it should match that, cause this doesnt look like a casual watch

Gonna hold out for a blue dial/ss bezel tropik. It's smaller than the delfin and black divers are everywhere.

Just bought my first ever watch. Sorry for bad quality pics i don't have a good camera
It is Orient blue ray (CEM65009D) 200m diving automatic got it for 150Eur. I'm really happy with it, but still i will tell few small cons:
- bracelet is prone to scratches
- non hackable, so you it's really hard to synchronize seconds
- bazel pointer does not align 100% with marks
Overall i really like it!
p.s. i got very small wrists like 6.3 inch and it fits perfectly.
