I EDC both all depends on where i'm going. When i walk the dogs the Glock 42 is more comfortable as it is lighter and slimmer when i run with them, when i go to work and don't need to run or i won't be far away from my car the GX4 stays with me .

I really like the G42 though, the lack of weight makes it so easy to carry, and i sometimes don't even remember i have it

Bought a Beretta 92x compact this year - love it - almost as much as my milspec RIA 1911. I think if I slap some checkered grips on the 1911, improve the grip, it'll retake the lead - but 9mm ammo seems quite a bit cheaper than 45 ACP, may end up shooting the beretta more. Next up, either a 12 gauge (tried trap recently, liked it) or a GSG-16 for more fun plinking.

I personally cannot recommend getting an AR pistol. I believe the AFT will proceed with pistol brace registration.

What I wish I had known before getting my first AR:

Buy a complete lower receiver. (Aero, BCM, or PSA etc.)
Complete a Form 1 for an SBR. (Assuming you can in your state)
Once Form 1 is approved, buy an 11.5" - 14.5" complete upper (BCM, DD, G etc.)

It may seem expensive or even a pita, but it's worth it to go this way imo. It will be the only AR you need. It's an investment, but buy once cry once CANNOT be overstated in this case.

If you decide to go this way, I will help you as much as you need. I've done this several times now.

You will be light-years ahead of the typical first time AR owner.

I was personally going to go with just a regular sized AR. I've seen an AR Pistol is action through youtube videos. Looks badass and they've worked it well, but I want something a little bigger.

AR15 style rifle.

If in doubt buy a Daniel Defense complete, or a BCM pinned 14.5" complete upper and then an M4E1 stripped Aero lower

Reminder to check/change your batteries for your lights and red dots. My aimpoint is still on from 2020 and holosun has been on since early 2021. All WML are still strong since they're not used much. Eotech………dead after 4 months with a energizer lith ion battery. Total combined use time was about 1.5 hours on over the 4 months and it was always tuned off while stored. I guess eothechs are nothing more than range toys from now on

Haven't changed my Eotech battery yet, it's been a year and a half.

So let's not talk like that is the norm.

Passed some big tests at work, so I picked up a present for myself.

Used Benelli Nova tactical. Had a couple little marks on it, but looks like it was hardly used at all.

I made a change to Handleitgrips instead of the normal Talon Grips that I buy… and can confirm I"ll be buying Handleit from now on. Already had the Glock, but wanted some grips for it.

Being anti-2nd Amendment is like saying "We have too many rights, please take some away!"

I have a winchester 100 in .308 and the magazine somehow got lost.

Is it possible to replace the magazine with another brand? I haven't had any luck finding original magazines for the gun.

Still kind of a firearms noob, any help is appreciated.

I think the gun community needs to stop adhering to rumors of rules that don't even exist yet. Imagine how happy the govt is with the idea that people actually stop owning things based solely on proposed ideas.

Even if they do something about the braces, it isn't like the gun is banned. Run a bare tube if you don't want to register.

I just can't recommend a braced pistol with a clear conscience to a first time owner.

Do you know Futurama?

Short short version: Fry had a (dedicated) dog named Seymour Asses. Fry gets frozen at a cryogenics lab by mistake in 1999 (for 1,000 years). Seymour tries to find Fry. Seymour does find fry in the tube, Fry's idiot parents come and get Seymour and drag him away from the tube while mumbling about how the dog needs to lead them to Philip (Fry).

Seymour waits outside of the pizza shop where Fry used to work, for 12 years, for Fry to come back.

Fry never comes back.

That's the gif

Also, they find the petrified remains of Seymour in the future and the professor is going to clone Seymour AND through cartoon magic Seymour will have his memories.

But when Fry finds out Seymour lived so long after Fry left, Fry says Seymour will have forgot about Fry so Fry does not do the cloning.

So Seymour never gets to see Fry again even though he could have.

When I watch that I picture my GSD that got hemangiosarcoma and was given 4-8 weeks to live after the first life saving surgery and diagnosis. 6 weeks into that she was a little bit off one day, and that was the day I had to leave on short notice to fly to my uncle's funeral who had just been killed by a vehicle while riding his bike (and more to that but whatever). Doge followed me to the door and watched me leave with a "I'm about to die of cancer please don't leave me". Doge had to be put down the 1 day I was gone.
