Anyone else have so much arm hair that it hurts to turn your rotating bezel? Might just be a sea master problem, sense the case is a bit slimmer

Just imagine how stupid you have to be to pretend like you closed up shop without a word while still owing customers and other dealers money and watches. I follow the channel and that whole watch community. They didn't have anyone's watches left on consignment and they wired out 100k to one of the other guys the day before. You don't do that if you're bailing.

Its a few mil were talking about here, not 30 mil. You can't run off and hide on that. Plus the TPG called in during a life stream and msged the other guys. You'll see

The guy they wired the 100k to was a wealthy Russian out of Miami. You don’t fk with the Russians. So if they were gonna bail I doubt they’d want the Russians out for their heads. So that’s not enough reason to assume they didn’t bail.

As far as whether they had any consignment pieces on hand or not is another story. People online tend to lie so it’s hard to know for sure. I saw some people that said they did have pieces on consignment with them. But it’s the internet it could be bs.

But from recent info coming out it does seem theyre just doing this for publicity. The only way I can see it working out in their benefit though is if they managed to snag a Netflix deal or something.

Dang just looked on Chrono24 at that nautilus. And those are listed at over 250k…sheesh. All three watches are great though.

I wasn’t in the market when it happened. So can’t confirm. But I read when the pandemic first started you could get a BLNR for like 12-13k on the gray market.

I’m convinced it’s impossible to photograph the explorer 2 where it DOESNT look like a dinner plate on the wrist.

Even from that MySpace angle it looks potato. There is potential with that camo strap tho, think it would be better with the black dial.

Yeah I like that Tag also. Tag Heuer isn't gonna go up in value like a Rolex for example. So if you buy that and end up wanting to resale it you'll most likely lose some money. But you should be able to at least recoop half of the cost I'd imagine.

The watches that really go up in value are very hard to obtain such as desireable Rolex, Patek, AP, etc…

Be prepared to take at least a 50% hit on that Tag if you pay retail. You should be buying new for at least 30% off. The Tudor is imo the best bet if it fits you well.

I’m good at it at this point. I stop in somewhat frequently and don’t bother them for watches. They hate people walking in, asking for the hottest watches, and than leaving.

I keep in contact regularly. I’ll do favors in line with my work (i got my Rolex AD rep a mortgage). I will take them out to lunch. Etc.

Boating on birthday week. Bunch of applewatchcels on a pontoon boat nearby telling me not to jump in the water with my tudor because "just because it's water proof doesn't mean you should go in the water". Pardon me while i ignore the advice of someone whose nicest watch is a shinola. great weekend though, loving the chronograph as a "rough n tumble" piece. Strange to think that it wasn't even on my radar until i walked into the AD and the owner had me check it out. Can't imagine ever selling it, perfect daily driver.

I dislike the gmt for the same reason i dislike the non fifty-eight black bays. They're too tall/thick for the diameter. Otherwise a smart looking watch.

Ayyyy….lmao. Tudor is probably tougher…and is an apple watch even waterproof in the same manner….? My AK spent an almost literal week in the pool in mexico, snorkeling excursion, and paddle boarding. Zero issues.



Stopped in to the AD up in Saratoga this weekend whilst in town. Need to work on my game more, or not sure if i just didnt feel like playing it or buying anything right now with my rental selling. Should've been more pushy about what i was actually waiting for. Just was meh. Ill be back up in mid September. House should be sold by then. So we will see what happens. She did mention it's the emptiest their cases have ever been though. No shock there.

I'm off of watch acquisition for the foreseeable future. AD told me I could get the 126715 basically whenever i was serious, but would probably put down on another rental property before i felt obligated to really get one. I live by "stay down until you come up", want 20k in rental monthly income before I go in on a 40k watch.

Im also in a similar spot. Im selling my rental because it's about to need some TLC and it's hitting the age where big things are going to start to go wrong. So i figured i'd dump it in this ridiculous market since the tenants left early. I've got more than enough capital (could buy a few DDs for example), but similiar to you, i'd rather get more in the rental game. But right meow is *not* the time to buy rental excursions, which is what sucks.

What are the chances I can ever buy a white faced SS Daytona at a dealer for msrp?

I really want one but the best I’ve seen is high $30’s for one at a grey dealer. Not happening.

The ironic thing about steel Skydwellers and Daytonas is that if the grey market prices for you are “not happening” then the required spend to get one at retail DEFINITELY is not happening either.
