I fukn love this Breguet Marine Big Date old model on the bracelet

So many beautiful Breguet releases and you post the one that looks like Maurice Lacroix dogchit. The nicest thing about that watch is the rotor.

Dress dials on steel bracelets look like doodoo 9 times out of 10.

Keep if:
you don't have a rolex at all, you do have a rolex and don't have one on jubilee, like the color combo, and/or actually follow tennis and enjoy wimbledon matches.

Sell if:
You already have a datejust, or don't have ties to tennis whatsoever

When I was in the AD for the first time deciding between the blue or sundust the sales associate thought she was doing me this huge favor by bringing out the wimbledon and offering it to me but i declined it. In my head i sorta laughed and thought "i don't want that goofy lookin chit". It's a polarizing dial, I don't care for it but people who like the wimbledon dial LOVVVVVVE the wimbledon dial.

Some stupid ass rigged slot tourney. Won't go into detail, but I drop a lot in Vegas. I was invited to a retarded slot tourney, they shafted me upon arrival. Told my host I was never coming back. He begged me to stay and he will make it right.. Next thing you know, I crush 180 contestants and win first place. 50k casino money and a new wimbledon. Still not going back, gave about 15 different casino execs an " F U". Done with gambling for a long, long time.

Interesting.. Was gonna give it to my mom but the dial is too large. I have a 40mm sub two tone with blue face, kind of overplayed but I really like it. The wimbledon is my second, still has tags and all. They gave me a W2-G upon taking the prize lol. I'll probably keep just in case it goes up in value. Don't think I'll ever wear it but I could see myself changing my mind… Not a fan of the DJ, but now that I have it I like it.

In before the datejust steals your heart lowkey. Everyone who doesn't have a datejust (myself included at one point), goes through a phase of not liking it or wanting it for whatever reason. All it's gonna take is wearing it one time in a dim-lit restaurant where the fluted bezel starts scattering light it catches and LEGIT sparkling and you're gonna instantly think "okay… this is awesome".

Can confirm. Friend of mine up north got a slate/baton dial 41 with fluted and jubilee. Tried it on at the bar we were at, dimly lit, and was like "ok…i could buy one of these."

That's understood, but most people aren't flipping watches. People wear a watch because they enjoy the aesthetic or as a status symbol. We all know we can look at our phone to tell time. So, why not buy a rep for a fraction of the price that no one will be able to tell the difference? Otherwise, you need to either;

1. chase around and suck an ADs dink to get a sought after model, or spend tons of money you wouldn't have spent for "purchase history"
2. overpay for it on the grey market.

I'm not saying I think reps are a great idea or that I would get one, just that its a little silly that rolex creates this artificial scarcity… and for what? Most of the people buying these $500 reps would probably spend the money to buy retail and pay MSRP if they just had the opportunity. Rolex just missing out potentional revenue. I was just SHOCKED at the complexity of the rep "market". Some of these guys are buying reps and then buying genuine parts to put on their rep…it's crazy.

I just want to point out that these replica forums, most of them have no idea what they are talking about and can only compare their replicas to other replicas. So really, most of them have no way of knowing whether or not something is accurate since they dont have anything Authentic to compare it with.

While some aspects of the replica might be accurate, many other aspects wont be accurate to an original, even aesthetically. Mechanically, you can only rely on watches with 1 complication (Date). Since anything beyond that would not work like an original.

Especially Chronographs. The ETA that most replicas use 7750/7751 cannot replicate the movement in a Daytona. The sub-dials are in different locations compared to the Authentic and they rotate and interact differently.

Also if anybody ever hands the watch, like if they wind the watch, it becames very obvious that it is not original.

I recently embarked on a journey to look for a Ceramic Bezel to put on my real 116520. I went the aftermarket route because Rolex does not sell spare parts. Also from what I read, the original 116500 bezel is not a direct fit onto a 116520 anyways. I went through 3 aftermarket bezels and 1 of them didnt look original at all (although well made) and didnt even fit.

1 Bezel looked 90% accurate and fits like 90%

1 Bezel looked 95% accurate and fit is still unknown since I still havent received it.

Each of these sellers swore it was a 1:1 replica.

Theres thing these you would never notice until you see an authentic version. Because most people are only seeing the replica from the front and comparing it to a pic they saw online, they think it looks accurate.

But there are other things that usually wont be accurate

1. Thickness of the watch due to the movement they use. Could be the thickness of the case, the thickness of the caseback.
2. The height/thickness of the bezel.
3. The ANGLE of the bezel's slop
4. Size and thickness of the font. Depth of the engravement of the font on the bezel
5. Color of the font since most inlays on authentic ceramic bezels are platinum and not just white paint.
6. The angle which the bezel slop tapers off

All things I noticed to be wrong in my quest to find a good ceramic bezel.

Yeah, I saw that one when I went in the store today, but I ended up loving the blue/green color of the Tissot watch so I purchased it

Have you ever had the opportunity to interact with one in person? Because I can guarantee you: while they may look like the real thing, from a mechanical perspective they are nowhere near the real thing.

They do not keep time very well, they break apart rather quickly and the icing on the cake? They do not have the same water resistance as real models do, so what inevitably happens is these things fall apart with mild to moderate use (showering and washing your hands).

They are a complete and total waste of money. You would be better off spending that money on a Tissot, Orient or Seiko.
