I think whether they're priced at $500,000 or $500, RMs are about aesthetic as a Gshock. As for anyone even entertaining the idea of wearing a replica… I find the notion embarrassing.

The only RMs I dig are the Rafa Nadal ********** watches, they are slim and aesthetic, love love the straps.

The rest are bulky and fugly, funnily the type of watches you don't like would look best in your Neanderthal wrist lmao.

Edit: why is tour-billon edited out? hah..

Not great enough I'd pay $500+ for a replica… If you gonna rock a fake $400k watch you definitely need to look the part a little too..

Also this^^ The "cheapest" car one could drive while wearing an RM is an AMG G-Class or 911 Turbo

I visited a couple of ADs, chit chat etc, most of them won’t even put in an order. Mayors will let you put in orders but only on gold dials and white dials ….groce

I tried on my buddy’s DJ41 Wimbledon dial, loved it. I want the DJ41 blue dial, index, fluted bezel, not particularly in love with either bracelet.

I’m in Miami which is gray market heaven but I refuse buying used. It’s a keeper so no rush to get it.

The AD in the design district was awesome, got the numbers and sat down with one of the guys, picked choices etc.

I don't think they're able to put in orders for desirable sports models. Probably the only model they could put an order in for would be a day date.

Unless by order you mean put you on a list.

Still hoping one day the market will cool off.

from what i understand, the cerachrome bezel colours are extremely hard to produce and fragile, something like 1 pepsi for every 100 batman bezels gets approved for shipment

it is inherently rarer.

plus its the original colour scheme from the GMT I

Can't hate obviously but that drives me craaaaaazy when it's not an obvious beater. Like i'm cool with my tudor chronograph getting some dings, but my rose-gold datejust? shiiiiiid i'd be ready to beat ass.

I remember when me and my ex's dad swapped watches at dinner to try them out. I gave him my DJ41, he gave me his two-tone bluesie. Schit was dinged and scratched up to hell. Crown was halfway screwed out with dirt all in it. I put it on and was like.

He makes infinitely more money tand I though so i just shut the fuk up lol. God bless you brahs comfortable enough to scar up your pieces. It's probably easier to do when you know it's a "forever piece" but still those fluted bezels are too damn pretty to me. I try to keep it as pristine as possible.

Sounds about right. As unstumpable said you cant really "order" anything desirable anymore. If you want that combo of DJ, just make it known, stick to your guns with what you want, and visit the AD and chat.

Definitely nostalgia because of the original Pepsi, plus the BLNR has been around for a while and the Pepsi still has that new car smell. From what I understand, they dye the BLNR the shade of blue they want first, then dye the other side black which is relatively easy since it just covers up the blue. But on the BLRO, they start with red and then put the blue over it, which leads to some kind of bleed through and that why some people say you get the pink and purple look.

BLRO under UV light:
(not my pic)

They're "effectively" the same (i.e. indistinguishably equal in overall style) to anyone who doesn't know anything about watches, or Rolex specifically; I'm not the least bit concerned over that perspective. And fk me, who am I to do what I want with my own money, rite? you do u boo.

Edited my last post.

But yeah, I remember when they released the DSSD and I was super excited. Went to the AD and was super disappointed. The thing is comically large and super top heavy. Some people can pull it off but I certainly can't.

Never tried the earlier release of DSSD 116660, but the more recent one with re-designed case/bracelet (126660) is supposedly a little more balanced on the wrist according to those who've tried both. I can't comment from personal experience there. I've never really liked/worn smaller watches though and would say that it's as bout as big of a watch as I'd ever desire to wear.
