you aren't really going to find watches in that price range that appreciate, but if you're looking to retain value then you can't go wrong with some of the popular omega or tudor models (BB58, BB chrono, SMP300, speedy pro, etc.)

however, if you look around you might get lucky with a good deal. i bought my omega aqua terra for like $2700 including tax, which is a steal IMO because it was originally bought brand new in 2020 (with 5-year warranty and a MSRP of $6300), came in like-new condition with all original box, outer box, and papers, and i know if i need to sell it i could most likely make a tiny profit on it.

fuk it, i'd do it if that was my price point. My first watch was a $1200 Oris. We all gotta start somewhere and it's infinitely better than some movado, david wellington, michael kors bullschit. Only knocks i have on it is that crown looks a litttttle potato, and i feel a way about them legit trying to redo the royal oak tapisserie dial after already clearly jacking the integrated bracelet design.

save for a few "hype" pieces, the demand just isnt high enough especially for a brand that is 1/10 as recognizable as rolex, ap, pp. no rappers sing about omega, no one on ig posts about it, except for one scene in 007 casino royale, most people have no clue about it.

You're not in the G-Shock groups are you? lol

I have a g shock that I bought for 250$ and its not selling for over 600$. In less than 3 months. G-Shock is working with rappers, and even John Mayer has his own branded G-Shock.


They are no different with that. I had to get all my newly released G-Shocks from grey market. No stores in the Charleston/Surrounding area have the newly released in stock.

Picked up a Speedy (Racing) this weekend from a boutique. Was told there is a price increase coming, though that may have been BS to get me to pull the trigger. Didn't mention anything about going all boutique though.

lol wtf? that's wild. i've heard about those john mayer g-shocks but they're overhyped. i only have a basic square g-shock (gwm5610-1) as my gym watch and that's about it.
