Fukin sad brahs. My JLC master calendar was swiped out of a drawer I kept it in. I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but we had a lot of renovation in the home recently, so it could have been a worker from a number of companies (including home health aids for my disabled sister). I wanted to give that one to my son. Sucks brahs. YeahI’mmad.

The only good thing to come of this is I’ll probably end up buying an ultra thin moonphase as a replacement at some point.

Thoughts?

They're wrong; I haven't personally confirmed it, but many on TRF have. If you had the older model 116710BLNR that was only available on Oyster, your AD would be correct, but the new model that is available on both, they'll allow you to order the other one. The only thing is that Rolex wasn't taking orders right after the announcement, but they will be soon.

And the whole they have to keep the old one thing is BS as well. They generally do have that policy, but people just remove the bracelet and say they lost it or something and then they sell them a new one. The only thing was that before it was counterintuitive since you could only order the bracelet it came on which you already have, but now since it comes on either, you can get the other one if you want.

Got this in last week.

Questions:

Is this band really considered sports? Seems dressy for me?

Was thinking of switching to a black rubber clasp band, thoughts?

So far I love it and dig the dial and everything. Also can you adjust the amount of time lost by taking it to be calibrated?

No idea about the strap other than that I've never liked them, but in all likelihood the watch isn't accurate enough to begin with to bother getting it regulated. That's something you may want to do when it's consistently inaccurate to a certain number of seconds every day and you just adjust from there.

i believe it's more of a "sporty" band but personally i'm not a big fan of that style. i think a blue or black rubber strap would suit that watch great. plus i'm personally biased towards rubber straps because i find them very comfortable

you can regulate it to some degree, but it's probably not worth it and it could always start losing time again. unless it's losing a ton of time

Homeowners insurance might cover that stolen JLC. Check with your agent.

typically 20-30% under ask when selling to gray. 10-15% when selling to private, in my experience.

It's fuking hilarious. The fact that they apparently actually sell is crazy. On one hand I'm like I can make a bunch of money and sell mine, but then I'm just gonna have money sitting around, or I'll buy something else that is probably equally inflated in price. Or I'd just want to buy the same watch back lol.

Pretty much what Enforcer said. They pay for shipping and insurance, pay to get the watch touched up, then have to make some money on top of it to keep the doors open. It's just easier as a seller do send it off safely and forget about it. Like selling/trading a car to a car dealer. You take the car and I don't want to hear from you if you find problems a week from now or change your mind.

Thanks for that, I just wanted to make sure if I wear it with some shorts and casual boat wear or gym wear that I wont look like an idiot wearing a dress watch.

As for rubber I think I will see if I can swap out my g-shock rubber strap and see how it looks.

I was curious about the time, I haven't noticed its off by much. I ask after watching a lot of repair videos and they put it on that machine and adjust it to lose the least amount of seconds per day.

I think, in my opinion, if you can get 75k for it, take it and get a complicated patek dress watch for the same money or less. (which is insane).

i might sell my skydweller and pepsi , i was offered $70k for the pair and put it towards a 5270 and when my tiffany OP comes in just have those two forever.

My problem is that I'm happy with my collection right now and there's nothing I actually want enough to buy. I can appreciate the trade up to a Patek idea, but I don't wear dress watches so I don't see any value in getting rid of a watch I wear all the time for something I don't really care about.

I doubt it. It's only been out less than six years. If it was though, I could see the price at 100k.

Nice, I've always liked that watch. Is the deal still going on? I've been eyeing something (ironically, also an IWC) and that deal might push me over the edge.

I sold a two tone sub for 11.5k and then saw it listed on crown and caliber for around 15k. So you'd probably get similar for a blue datejust.

But could be way off. You could punch in the model of the datejust on crown and calibers website and it'll tell you exactly what they'll give you for it instantly.

Nice, I've always liked that watch. Is the deal still going on? I've been eyeing something (ironically, also an IWC) and that deal might push me over the edge.
It’s my understanding they’re keeping black face ceramic and doing white face in stainless bezel only….

And it expired 1/25, however they run one every few weeks I will let you know when it’s up next.
