Mirin bro, great action shot with the hawk and that kingsfisher is a cool looking bird, ain't seen one before. What lens were you shooting with? I have been wanting to get a classic red cardinal shot in the snow, but they don't seem to hang out much during the winters here.

Awesome lighting, nice to know shots like this can be done without buying and getting into lights. Kid looks like he has seen some ****. That's a hard look mayne.

I would do all editing and sizing yourself, my parents wanted to surprise me this holiday by getting some of my pictures printed, and they allowed the printers to edit the photos before they printed them, botched the hell out of it IMO, now I'm torn about displaying it since it was a gift, but looks like chit now. Shame.

Just got back from the Grand Canyon - Zion - Death Valley - Lake Tahoe trip, sharing some of my favorite photos, took with the samsung S6, the camera pictures still need processed, but ended up with a few great ones with just the phone. I find myself hauling around both, instantly sharing the phone photos with family and friends has it's appeal, also just out and about when people want to see pictures of places or trips, it's nice to have photos handy. Usually just snap one with the phone then follow up with the camera for actual shots. Anyone else find themselves doing this?

Hour South-East of lake Tahoe

Bristlecone Pine, it isn't marked, but the oldest tree in this forest is about 5,000 years old.

Zion Overlook, Wanted to hike it again at night for a long exposure with the stars as well as vehicle light trails along the road you can see winding through the valley, but the girlfriend was with me and she thinks bears are everywhere.

Mono Lake, along 395 North to Tahoe from Death Valley, could be my favorite shot of the trip.

Will share more as I process the camera photos. Hoping to do a Seattle park tour this fall.

Spend your own $$$ and get the same photos reprinted the exact same way, except properly, then hang those. Parents will never know the difference and they'll actually look good

I have it too, its fcking amazing for the price. Highly recommended for entry into wildlife. Just be aware that shooting at 600mm takes getting used to. The DOF is very shallow at even f/8 if you are close to your subject.

Microadjust focus with it and its even more amazing.

Nice shots obmas!

How much are you loving the 7dmkii and Tamron combo?

I'm thinking about upgrading from the 70d but not convinced it's worth the expense.

Kinda off topic but thought you guys might know.

What is the best way to get hundreds of old photographs (from 90s etc) digitalized?

Hey guys, any recommendations for an entry-level or budget camera that would mostly be used for food photography (close-ups)? I'd like it to be decent all-around, but this would still probably be its primary use, so I figure I'd try to get something that is stronger there.

Since I don't want to spend too much money on this, I was looking at Olympus PEN E-PL6 . Would this be good enough? I also stumbled upon Nikon D3300 and Nikon D5200, but those are a bit more expensive, and I'm not sure whether they are that much better.

Basically, I'd like the pictures to show detail and to get quality at least as good as the following two pictures:

Did some urban exploring with the girlfriend on valentines day. She mentioned exploring during the day and I was down. Cannot wait to reach the post count to post the photos. They came out pretty good in my opinion. We tried those colored smoke bomb things that look neat with urban exploring.

Haven't posted in a while. Here are a couple firework pictures I took a couple months ago. I also recently got a Nikon D750, but haven't got a chance to really use it yet. Also started a Flickr page which is in my signature. Is Flickr a good site or is there better for showing your pictures?

Anything you get will work with the proper lens and the proper light.

I say go for the Pen or the OMD-EM5 mark 1 and spend the rest of your money on lenses and lights. You could also get a used A7 for 800-900 and get the manual rokinon/samyang lenses for $250-$400. I've got the 12mm f2 for my fuji and it is great

I think I decided on Olympus PEN E-PL6 bundled with the M.40-150mm R f4.0-5.6 lens. The latter is $100 extra, but I was hoping it might come handy. From looking at a couple of websites, they namely said how a telephoto lens could be useful even if it isn't completely necessary. Does all of that sound kind of reasonable?

I also heard a macro lens works great for food photos, but if I go with this camera I'd already be spending $400, which is more than I hoped for initially. I definitely can't go higher if I don't see myself really going into photography at this time.

I started with Flickr. It's not a BAD site.

It's really more about a simple fact. If you want to be noticed, do something noteworthy. Platform doesn't matter.

When you come to think of it, almost all human behaviour and activity is not essentially any different from animal behaviour. The most advanced technologies and craftsmanship bring us, at best, up to the super-chimpanzee level. Actually, the gap between, say, Plato or Nietzsche and the average human is greater than the gap between that chimpanzee and the average human.
