I understand where you are coming from Zyra.

The most appealing spiritual tradition to me is Esoteric Christianity (E.g Peter Deunov, Emmanuel Swedenborg), and when I went to Church and was in the company of Christians these past 3 years, I used to get annoyed at how some of them wanted to 'police' my theology. (I never used to bring it up, I was going their for spiritual development, not debate.) It is annoying.

The nature of Jesus IMO is up for debate. (God, Son of God alone, 'Ascended Master', etc). A well known figure in certain circles, who has a famous story that is made into a film, and is a Christian Pastor wrote this in reply to an email that I sent to him "Follow Jesus as depicted in the Gospels, everything else is speculation". Very simply reply, no theological scrutinizing (though he is well versed in Theology), no justifying of other parts of the bible (though he is a big fan of Paul), he just told me straight what he thinks is the the undeniable truth - which is the virtues and spiritual path taught by Jesus - and that everything else is speculation.

(For LGBT accepting Christianity, people like David Gushee and Kathy Baldock make solid cases.)
