- start getting decent views and big sales

- ends up moving to LA to start a new branch, takes film guy with him as well as couple other people
- gets leaked that he funds his watch purchases/lifestyle by being a gay escort giving tuggies to sugar daddy's under the alias of Travis baker
- gets Annexed from his TPG team (tpg now gets called tug piece gentleman)

Lmao
i've been following the whole saga on reddit, and chit is insane lol. i remember watching a couple of their earlier videos back in the day and those were super interesting because they were more about the day-to-day of a watch dealer, handling inventory, making sales, etc.

then it devolved into anthony thinking he's some big shot visionary and spending ridiculous amounts of money on dumb chit. also there was that whole scandal about him asking for $2k from people for access to a private group on fb, but then nothing ever happened with that group.

Oh I forgot to mention

- he paid $100k to hire a business a coach and 30k to go to some 2.day seminar
- he then advertised and charged people 30-50k for HIM to coach them at starting a successful watch business (said he was a professional even though he's only been doing it for 3 years)

Looks like all the normal green is still there, crown guard, "05" at five minutes, and they added lume to the 3-6-9.

Already texted my AD guy, I want the GMT II, I’m a lefty, dgaf how long it takes. Already got my DJ from him so he knows I’m serious.

It’s perfect IMO, solid movement, perfect size at 40, green being my favorite color and lefty crown? Yes yes yes.

Got on the list for a 126600 today. Spent about an hour talking with the AD. Tried to do all the right things- explain I was making the purchase to commemorate a professional achievement, that I just inherited my father's watch and wanted to buy something I can pass down to my son eventually, and spoke about the various time pieces I own now.

His statement was something along the lines of "I wouldn't want to make a wait estimate, but they are definitely more accessible than some other models".

We shall see.

Got a question.

My 2nd favourite watch I have in my collection is my Longines (not fashion). But my favorite watch in my collection is my Gu cci watch

Why do some think less of designer watches?

I’ll designate “designer” watches as “fashion” watches here for the sake of the point. For a lot of watch people, it's important that watch brands have a long history. A history of engineering, design, and often, practical purpose/application. From watches that were used in lunar missions, to those used in war, there is a history involved. There is engineering involved, and the evolution of that engineering.

Fashion watches tend to steal designs, take shortcuts in terms of engineering/quality, and maximize profit while lowering quality. This is not true in all cases, as we discussed above, Hermes is doing some pretty cool chit lately. But overall, watch brahs have a tendency to respect history, engineering, quality, and utility. Many of us have great respect for Seiko for these reasons, despite them not being generally perceived as luxury pieces. Fashion watches are often lacking in these areas, and compensate by marketing themselves as “luxury”, with little to back up that claim.

Imagine slapping a Gucci label on a Toyota Camry, and selling it at Porsche prices. That’s how fashion watches are often perceived.

Because they are low quality with cheap movements that can be found in $50 watches, but they sell them for $1000. You're buying the name and the name only, end of story. Yes, the name matters with even the top brands, but at least you're getting something of high quality. I'd even argue that you're better off buying a way overpriced Guc ci t-shirt than one of their watches, because there is at least the possibility that the shirt might be made of a higher quality material. The watches are all chit in every respect.

At the end of the day, just wear what you like best.

So I realized I kind of really fukn like the No Time to Die Seamaster 300m. What are the MWC's opinions?

I'm probably never gonna get a call back about a Submariner no matter how many "lists" I get my name on, so I'm starting to feel like this might be a nice buy. Not sure if $9k for the mesh strap option is too high, though. Seems like it includes a couple grand as the 007 premium

I would say there is a 80% chance the novelty of the marker color will get old before long.

Can relate on the wait list though. I'm debating if I just buy my aquaterra or keep hoping the AD really intends to sell me a SD43

That watch is beautiful. The Bond watches always look good.

I’d argue that watch on your wrist is better then the Sub that’ll never actually come

I'm probably never gonna get a call back about a Submariner no matter how many "lists" I get my name on, so I'm starting to feel like this might be a nice buy. Not sure if $9k for the mesh strap option is too high, though. Seems like it includes a couple grand as the 007 premium
Love the look of it. It even looks better in person, IMO. Do you have an Omega boutique or AD close to you that you can go look at it in person and put it on wrist?
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Gucci is known for luxury.. they're synonymous with luxury. Wouldn't they put the same effort into their timepieces?
