Gucci is known for luxury.. they're synonymous with luxury. Wouldn't they put the same effort into their timepieces?
Edit: though I see that they are attempting to step up their game with the GG727.25 movement. The price tag reflects it as well, though they threw the movement in what appears to be a nautilus knock-off with a royal oak bracelet, which is a shame. It will take more than that for them to get any respect as watchmakers.

Love the look of it. It even looks better in person, IMO. Do you have an Omega boutique or AD close to you that you can go look at it in person and put it on wrist?

Being "known for luxury" these days just means you charge a lot for your products. Any of those "luxury" brands that blast their logo all over their products tend to be super overpriced. You're just paying for the logo so that you can flex on people.
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

Not to say I don’t have a couple of Ferragamo loafers with obvious brand-buckles myself (though I avoid shiny stuff), but you should be aware of what you are projecting. I’m not wealthy, because I have to work to maintain my lifestyle. I buy things because I like them for what they are at the core, and I recommend you (tjw) do the same. The luxury flex is an endless venture.

Interesting. I looked it up and Gucci actually makes their own watches. I always assumed it was outsourced with a Gucci logo thrown on but they have their own company part of Kering group which also owns: Ulysse Nardin, Girard-*********, JeanRichard, Gucci, Boucheron, Qeelin, Bottega Veneta.

An insult to the Gerald Genta designs of 2 out of 3 the Swiss trinity brands is not a good start brah.

You think highly of Gucci because of their expensive fashion productions in the tens of thousands. Welcome to the world of Patek Philippe:

A Gucci watch is like a Gucci chair vs Herman Miller. Or a Gucci car vs a Ferrari. Or a Gucci frying pan vs Mauviel. Or a Gucci boat vs a Benetti. Apples and oranges brah.

Sorry for going off MWC brahs. The misconception of the value of a watch being tied entirely to brand name rustles me. Mostly because I know the brand value of Rolex, but also understand the core value. Which is a reason that I like them so much, and am waiting for the right model for me, at the right time, and the right price. Chit gets under my skin.
Not knocking Nardin and p.erreg.aux . It I had unlimited resources, they would be worth buying imo. I’d probably pick up a Bulgari as well.

I have zero issue buying the AT if it actually meant I'd be able to buy the SD43 at retail soon. The AT costs less than the gray market markup on the SD43.
But I would be pissed af if I bought the AT and realized I still wasn't gonna get to buy the SD.

I believe my Gucci watch has more complications than my Longines plus I like the look of it better. But they are both very good looking watches

Edit: I'll try for pics
Edit #2: The watches I have are better looking and may be different than the ones on google lol

Crazy wild watch, but he makes it work. You do you, and enjoy. Apologies if I came off as rigid/negative earlier, that’s a chit attitude and one that I’m working on changing. I’m a pretty reserved guy, and sometimes apply that mentality onto others unnecessarily/wrongfully. I’m glad you enjoy your watch.

by that logic my $10 casio f-91w has more complications than any rolex ever produced…brb perpetual calendar, split-seconds chronograph, hourly chime, alarm and more
(the f-91w is a fantastic watch though srs)

So we can better display this, I’ll post a quartz movement that may look like what is inside his Gucci watch vs what may be in his Conquest
Vs
These are entirely incomparable imo.

What does an Audemars Piguet or Rolex do differently

A good start would be looking up how mechanical movements work in general. Once you understand that, you’ll have a better grasp of the innovations built from there, and the complexities of things like perpetual calendars, anti magnetic plates (complex history), minute repeaters, helium escape valves, flyback chronographs, tachymeters and tourbill0ns.
And if this stuff doesn't interest you that’s fine. It’s not for everyone. Just be understanding that many of us have taken the time to learn these things, and judge watches from a different perspective than a person who isn’t interested in the details. Details matter to us. And for many of us, this goes way beyond watches.

^Again, no disrespect intended. It’s just an effort to guide you into seeing why Gucci quartz watches are seen as a different thing to most of us than a solid mechanical watch (including some affordable ones like Orient).

It's really difficult to explain to the average person how something like a Seiko 7S26 and a Rolex 3235 movement are so different.
Imagine assembling something with 100+ moving parts and having the tolerances so tight that it 1) is accurate to within 1/86400th (one second per day)…. and can run like that for decades on end.

Seems like third party vendors sell it for much less ($4600)? Prestigetime comes with a 5 year warranty, seems like a good deal?

Local rolex dealer said 1 year wait at least of the batman she had on display in riverside square mall today. Most of their display cases were empty. Feelsbatman. There were like 5-10 watches on display in 50-75 spaces. Mostly datejusts for women.
It’s a chit feeling when you can buy something, but are told your money is no good.
This grey market stuff just feels off. If Rolex raised their retail prices to grey market prices, this whole thing would fall apart imo. Not saying they would lose value, but it would change things if they officially made themselves msrp competitors to AP, PP, etc. for sports model watches. I think they walk a fine line at the moment.
