Realistically is why im "meh" right now about it all. The only real watch i want is a BLNR on a jubilee. And literally the above Omega AT on a steel bracelet. I wouldnt…mind….a blue/fluted/baton/jubilee DJ41….but it's just that. Wouldnt mind one. So to me…playing the games with an AD right now….is blah. WHen i used to live in upstate NY and had an AD almost in walking distance to my house (got me my AK In about 3-4 months), sure, I would start bugging them weekly and going in to chat. But now in SE virginia where one of the local AD's discontinued their connection with Rolex, im meh. The other dealer is known for the "oh you want a BLNR/Pepsi?….youre going to need to spend 250k" and even being dikks to customers.
You in Virginia Beach, brah?
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

I'm probably never gonna get a call back about a Submariner no matter how many "lists" I get my name on, so I'm starting to feel like this might be a nice buy. Not sure if $9k for the mesh strap option is too high, though. Seems like it includes a couple grand as the 007 premium
The watch itself looks very nice, but imo both the mesh bracelet and the nato are underwhelming and ****ty. Would've been much better if they offered the classic type Bond bracelet in titanium for this one too, like the 2231.80. I've had one, and it's one of the most comfortable watches on the wrist since it's so light. And the $9k price tag is a bit too much for what it is imo. Solid $5-6k watch tho

Gucci just successfully branded themselves as luxury, but in the end they're just selling $10 sweaters for $500-1500 and $100 bags for $1000-3000.

Edit: I'll try for pics

Edit #2: The watches I have are better looking and may be different than the ones on google lol

Look at the Gucci YA101309 that's close
That's a trash fashion watch. Took $5-10 to make, not even joking.

Not knocking Nardin and p.erreg.aux . It I had unlimited resources, they would be worth buying imo. I’d probably pick up a Bulgari as well.
Watch collecting in a nutshell. When many people approach the hobby they learn about various history and complications behind movements. On paper there are literally dozens of brands that compete or beat rolex on fit/finish/complication.

I was probably the biggest rolex hater itt when i first joined. Really easy to do when you're swiping your card for under $5,000 on a piece and really not in Rolex territory anyway. But when you start knocking on $8,500… $10,000… price points the ego starts kicking in. There are several pieces from JLC, Grand Seiko, Glashutte, even Montblanc that i'd love to own. But i mean… just lol at spending 15 THOUSAND dollars on a ****ing montblanc watch. Rather take my girlfriend to Bora Bora for a week with that kind of coin.

I actually like the look of the mesh bracelet, but I think you're spot on about the price. The non-007, stainless steel Seamaster 300m retails for $5400. The 007 version is titanium, but it does seem overpriced at $9k. I still want one though lol

Nice.

I was going to try and schmooze up Finks when Reeds stopped their Rolex affiliation, but they basically blew me off the first time I went in there. I even tried to have just a watch convo with the SA and it was like nothankgeoffrey.

prices are definitely down around 10-20% across all models and industries. ive been waiting for a g63 and have seen it drop from 299k to 275k to 249k to 239k now sitting at 225 and still not moving.
its tax season, its spring, its stock market down, its a lot of factors.

i think it will go parabolic however, where it dips dips dips then starts to rebound, but i am def trying to pick up some pieces at the bottom.

I figured and was thinking the same thing. I see people now "reaching" with prices, and watches sitting for a month. If I ever see a BLNR for mid teens again im going to say fukk it and buy it.

i have my name down at a few ADs for 116505 rg ivory daytona to commemorate my sons birthyear (this year).
lange is out of orbit now. looking for another ROO, RG GMT, and fingers crossed, my RM67-01 should be arriving at boutique in the next few months (as soon as they drop below msrp on gray market haha)

what else is on your radar??

yeah i remember the 13-15k days for blnr in 2019-2020. msrp is up to 11 now or something so anything under 15 would be a good buy. ive seen a few on trf for 19's and im sure you could negotiate.

Yeah i figured 15-16 i'd jump and never look back, especially if they continue to creep a little lower. Because the rest of the watches i see im "meh" about in general. It's the only one that really talks to me like others in the past have. Hence why the AD back and forth just isnt worth it for me.

Pretty sure the red and yellow have been discontinued in all forms. Green still available. The turquoise 41 is discontinued as well, but the 36 is still available.

Definitely run in and chat with them constantly. Sitting back and waiting for a call after one visit…may not bear fruit.

That said, I turn the big 35 this summer. Might just go ahead with it to celebrate being on that bonafide GROWNman time, and having my schit together.

Outside of the 126715 I wouldn't mind a SS Black Dial Sky-Dweller on Oyster if i could get it retail. Still in love with 3212A Patek weekly calendar but my AD was kind enough to tell me i had no shot at that piece short of buying an engagement ring with them. I actually got a call from my AP boutique recently but i'm fairly certain they were just going to try and dump a Code11 on me rather than a Royal Oak.

As much as I like the Lange1 and would like one, i'm not tying up over $30,000 in any piece that isn't a precious metal rolex at this stage. Omega Grey Side of the Moon still on the table to potentially replace my Tudor Chronograph, but i just love the thing so damn much. It's the perfect watch to wear when i wanna wear "a nice watch" without getting "nice watch attention"

Hey man, we all got our own lanes. I was rocking an Oris Artix GT Chronograph as my only piece just 3.5 years ago.

Also i may be completely out of touch with the market now, but i feel like it would be easier to get an explorer than them colored Oyster Perpetual dials at this point.

looked up the watch and see it's some giga GPS-tracking-hitech offering from Garmin. Was going to say that was probably the worst watch you could have bought unless you were super outdoorsy… then i read your sig. Congrats on the pickup.

I've noticed that over here too, watches not selling as fast as they were even just a month ago. Like Enforcer said, markets looking shaky right now and lets be real these dealers have been pushing prices up on a daily basis, its not sustainable.

I'll be picking up a watch or 2 if the prices come back to earth, I can't stomach paying these prices

Damn man, mirin hard. Just looked it up…. 76g! My Coros only tips the scales at 29g.

I got this a couple weeks ago, the amount of data these things extrapolate is mind blowing.

I've been on the taper phase of my training in prep for my half marathon this Saturday since I got it, I really wish I bought it months ago.
