There's a lot of guys who are in this type of situation. I chose to get divorced when my kids were young enough not to remember, because I knew if I stayed all they would see was a toxic relationship. Now even though I only see my kids half time they get a dad who's happy and fulfilled in a really great relationship and both kids are doing great.

I can't imagine living twenty years of your life miserable.

There is every reason the government should participate in personal relationships- or at least ones that result in children. Married parents are more likely to stay together until the children are at least age 12 vs. unmarried parents. Once children are part of the picture it's in the interest of the government that those children be largely supported by said parents and that children become "productive members of society". The odds for all that are better if the parents are subject to a legal contract.

So you haven't got much familiarity with female miscers?

I think dusty speculated during one of her benzo meltdowns that she was afraid she wouldn't get a good custody arrangement of her kids so you have to be a literal drug addict for that risk
