If theres any legit critiques on the deadlift and some changes the federations make, they should use stiffer fuking bars.

so you have a 6 plate deadlift at ~157lbs? (was 257 when I pulled 585)

and forget about my squats... haven't squatted consistently since 2013 when I tore my groin so that's not really a point of comparison.
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Personally I don't mind the deadlift bar. It is much safer to use IMO since the bar is more flexible and allows you to pull the slack out - getting you into a mechanically much more upright and safe position that minimizes the chance of injuring your back compared to a stiff bar.

However, the USAPL/IPF (the largest drug-tested federation in America/the world) strictly uses a stiff bar for deadlifts.

I have no idea what challenge/thread you're referring to, but I find it extremely hard to believe someone approaching a 6-plate deadlift (a feat generally only powerlifters will achieve, not your casual gym-goer who doesn't know chit about strength sports as illustrated by people like the miscer on the 1st page who doesn't even know what the difference between straps and wraps is, and that straps aren't even allowed in PLing comps) wouldn't appreciate a 900+lb deadlift simply because it was done sumo, and they consider that "cheating" for arbitrary reasons.

I think it's a little ridiculous that they haven't standardized the plates and bars. I understand what you're saying about the ability to pull the slack out but on some heavy lifts were talking about almost 2" less ROM before the weight breaks entirely off the floor.

usually conventional you're able to grind it out worst case scenario, where as sumo, you can't really grind it out. Whether a smaller ROM is worth that tradeoff is on the individual
Bench: 405
Squat: 465
Deadlift: 365
OHP: 225

Fukked up crew
Quit lifting crew

eh I'm just a unique person I guess. It's okay I guess but I would much prefer conventional

I don't train or eat very often...very inconsistent with gym. I do train hard when I go, but just not consistent at all. I could train 2 bodyparts in 1 week, miss a month..go back for a week, miss 2 weeks etc. But recently I have been tryna do better and be more consistent.

I work weekends and usually go clubbing, so weekends I average somewhat between 500-1200 cals and I don't really stay consistent through the week with diet anyway. Lol. Not gonna explain the full logistics of the challenge but yeah.. my point is I'm a casual gymer

yes... my bench suffers the most imo from not training/eating

All I've had today is pasta, chicken, bagel and a banaana. Around 1200 cals. Going bed soon as I have work tmoz. Usually I eat like 600 cals on a Sunday night. If I don't lift I generally survive in starvation mode. Missed a long period of training a couple monthsgo and lost like 15lbs but ive gained a bit back now

The guy was repping 6 plates for 6-8 clean reps (conventional). He had the best bio-mechanics for a deadlift I had ever seen in person, crazy monkey arms. I'm not saying 6 plates is unimpressive or anything but there's people out there who are built very well for a deadlift and may never have to take training or the gym very seriously to achieve it.
