I cringe at the guys ITT saying 2-3 times 4-5 times etc. You guys are so full of ****, with maybe a couple of exceptions. Considering 90% of the misc doesn't even ****ing lift, and only maybe 1-2% are actually advanced lifters. Push Press? Sure. Jerk? Absolutely. Not a strict standing OHP, **** no, you lying sacks of dog chit.

i could see some 160-180lbs guys saying that number but anything above 220lbs is elite level and needs years of lifting experience in that chitty lift(i like ohp but holy chit its so hard to progress ...)

The strict OHP max I use for training is 145 right now. I could maybe get 155. Its going to be another 8 months to a year before I can max 195.

I haven't said anything ITT but I know for a fact I can hit 220ish for reps, just dont know how many. My OHP and incline bench have always been disproportionately strong.

Ya, you're def right about the difference in size making a MASSIVE difference, but even so, anyone strict pressing their own body weight even for a max rep, let alone multiple reps, has accomplished quite a bit in the OHP department. Most miscers in threads like this respond having never actually tried it, just thinking "ya, I can do that" without realizing just how difficult it actually is.

Again, i'm sure there are some guys here who actually can. But the amount of multi rep responses here is baffling.

It took me about 10 years of lifting consistently before I could even do 1 rep at bodyweight, but I'm natty. There was a guy in school doing 225x5 at around 220#, so it's definitely possible, but then again he was a player for a major DIV I football team, which means elite genetics.

Yea it's def possible, but let's be honest about the amount of bull chit that get's spewed in these forums. There are a few guys here I really do believe, but not very many. Like you said, 10 years of lifting for you, and elite genetics for your buddy. The average lifting life span of most miscers is probably a few months at most, and very few of us are blessed with godly genetics.

This is the Misc. I see people lying/frauding all the time. If they lie about getting laid, why wouldn't they lie about their lifts? I'll only believe someone when they post a video.

This. I'm light, so I can get one rep. I don't train OHP more than once every couple weeks either. If I trained it a couple times per week, I think I could get up to 3 reps within a few months.

Standing OHP is too easy to cheat with legs. Why not seated where you can't boost it out of the hole?

You're generally stronger in seated OHP compared to standing
