I mean, some people feel good driving em but the carbon footprint isn't much better than a fuel efficient car after reading studies on it. It's only slightly better. Not to mention they are fuk ugly.
I use to not care much what I drove. Really it isn't that big of a deal, but I did just buy my first nice car, and damn it feels pretty good. People be like, "oh that will wear off in 2 weeks." Nah, I really appreciate my things and nice things. It's just a subtle reminder that you've made it, pads the ego a bit too. Just don't let it inflate the ego and you're good.

The only cars I hate are Corollas post AE86 & PT Cruisers. They always drive really slow on my commute to work. My car makes it impossible for fat chicks.

MrAWatts, thoughts on guys like me who are self-employed/small business owners who drive old/ugly cars to save money? I'm not CEO'ing yet so I can't justify a nice car but working on it and someday in the near future hopefully.

I drive a 95 Lexus LS400 thats in perfect shape, paid 2300 for it and have put in about 3K worth of work into it. (Timing belt, Plugs, Struts, Sway bar bushings, rims, and brakes/Oil) It has 140K on it and runs great. I dig old luxury cars but they gotta look nice, no dents, nice paint. It still looks modern and nice, comfy and has plenty of power with the V8. I don't give a fuk about mileage, but it gets about 25 on the highway and 16-18 in town.
I get brand new company trucks to drive from work, paying more than 10K for car is just dumb IMO. I'd rather spend 30K on a watch than 10K on a Vehicle. Srs.
At least the watch won't lose value.

Normally no, it gets you from point A to point B, but some cars have a special place in hell for being so "Prius-y." Scion's were just horrifically designed to appealI don't even know, and that Nissan Cube thing seems to be trying the same ugly niche. Affordability I can understand, but do they design some cars out of spite or some secret market test to see how low standards can get? If it comes between two cars roughly around the same price, it's hard to justify some of these monstrosities' existence.
Another thing that is a lot more rare are some "special edition" vehicles that really make you slap your head, like a Transformers special edition Camaro or Call of Duty Jeep. Unless they're actuallygivingyou a discount to drive that billboard, you're just overpaying for vehicles that aren't high end in the first place and look worse because of the branding. Take the extra money and either shell out for some upgrades or get a nice car that isn't tied to Michael Bay or a video game. It's their money and all, but talk about either a huge lapse in judgement or someone whoreallylikes Transformers or whatever it is.

No. I lose respect for them if they drive like *******s.
Example: California drivers who tail you and ride your bumper if you're not going as fast as they want you to, even if you're going like 10 above the speed limit. They literally think they're whipping a horse "C'MON horsey, go faster. GO! C'mon I'm too much of an ass to switch lanes and cut you off so I'll keep riding your ass!"

100%.
It is 2016. With how incredibly materialistic the world has become you have 0 excuse to be driving some POS unless:
a) Under 23/still in college
b) have some sort of medical issue or disability preventing you from having money
c) your car is in the shop and your loaner is a POS
There are really decent looking cars for under $10k.
I bought a ****ing 5 year old BMW with 60k miles on it for $14k no one has any excuses....and my total "repair" bills were about $400 over 3 years one of which was needed when I bought the car and knew it going in.
On the flip side of this I always LOL at people who buy a brand new toyota/honda/etc for like 45k and brag about it.
My best friend did the exact, as his car broke down, he got desperate, went to dealership and got sold hard on the "welllll we dont have your model but we do have this fully loaded one for 10k more"
put 5000 down and has payments of $579/month for the next 6 years or something. LOL @ that.

I think its passable if you are young and drive a POS. If you are past 30 and drive a POS then I definitely have less respect. But ya really cant do anything. Its not like you can tell them to get the fk outta my way peasant. Some old lady in a 1990 minivan had the audacity to flip me off the other day because I scared her a bit even though shes all the way across the street.

I have less respect for people that buy a chit car than an ugly one.
Worse are men that obsess over their debted up to hell mid-tier car and try to show it off as some prized penis extension. No one cares about your BMW 3-series or Golf GTi

As has been said, If the vehicle is well maintained, then I generally think whatever they drive is fine. The only cars that really annoy me are when pretentious idiots buy some trendy electric/hybrid flavor of the week so they can signal to all the other pretentious idiots as to how "eco-conscious" they are. The "carbon footprint" of the manufacturing process of one of those things is probably much more than if they kept driving their gas powered vehicle.

To a degree yes. I understand some people look at it as an appliance, but come one.
If you drive a prius I hate you. Simple as that. They are all pretentious and think they got this fantastic car thats saving the planet and all they got was a horrible car thats horrible for the environment.
