Literally every single person will try and rip you off
Got robbed and had to bribe the police officier to file a police report for insurance
Got into several physical confrontations with the local populace because they tried macking on my wife while im walking next to her
Randoms following you/staring you down
Got pulled over by police on a scooter at a checkpoint to check for drivers license, proceeded to get extorted by the popo along with a dozen other western looking people(not a single non western person was pulled over)
Went to change money at an exchange booth and got swindled out of several hundred euros, went back and had to physically threaten the dude into giving my money back

Not worth it to buy a home for the ridiculous prices you see now only to live in freezing cold depressing temperatures for what seems like half the year. Not worth it/10.

Theres a reason why you'll notice happier people in 3rd crappy countries. Sunlight and warm weather.
Can confirm. Spent 2 years in Canada and I'm now back in my hometown in southern Europe. It's been around 15C and not a single cloud for the past few weeks, sipping coffee while looking at palm trees in my front yard right now. Remembering how I was freezing to death and hadn't seen the sun for a month last year, feelsgoodman.

And the best thing? I can see snowy moutains while tipping this, I just have to drive for an hour if I miss the snow.

Cities are convenient and clean in Canada though.

lmao- that's not travelling when you stay in your own country.

For me, the chittest place iv ever been too is Albania and Bosnia. Full derelict spec... poverty everything.

Their freeways are still rubble, everyone seems to sell corn or wash cars, good food is a myth, dangerous, they hate anyone but their own people etc.

It's because most of them expect it to be like Disneyland then they get there and:
- it's pretty dirty
- people don't speak English and won't make any effort
- different customer service than what they're used to

Then they go back home and tell everybody people are rude in Paris or Rome.

I hated Prague. I was only there for a few days whilst interrailing, but it was at least two days too many. After I'd seen the castle, old town and other cool historic chit, I was left with the realisation that it was just a party-boy chithole full of idiots just there to get pissed and smash girls. Those are things I can do at home.

After travelling there from Budapest, and going on to Krakow afterwards (both incredible cities, would recommend) it was a real disappointment.

I'm Canadian, but I still agree with them for the most part.

London - I'd go again, I didn't find it too bad and I'd like to get out of the city around there.
Paris - Been twice, I'll never go again. It's getting taken over and becoming dirty.
Rome - I'd go one more time just go see more sights, but other than that it was a dirty chit hole with pickpockets and gypsies everywhere.

I dunno OP, I also went to Caulker last year and had a great time, though I wouldn't stay on that small island for more than maybe a week. Did you dive/snorkel at all?

For me, and I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet:

All of the Philippines.

Such a disgusting hole, chit and trash everywhere, people with guns guarding every thrift store, and the main occupation is strip bars where the median age appeared to be 13. An abandoned child followed me around trying to escape. I stayed in the hotel the rest of the time. Didn't go there by choice.

PS. I agree with San Fran and Barca posts, okay places but boring and overrated as hell.

London is nothing special. Doesn't really feel like "England", much like NYC doesn't feel like the US.

Paris does have lots of dog crap on the sidewalks, for what it's worth.

Cleveland. Stayed a night there and went to see the Rock'n'Roll hall of fame maybe 15 years ago. There was a layer of dead bugs that covered the whole city and crunched beneath your feet as you walked through it. Most repulsive town I've ever seen. In fact, there is very little redeeming value in anything in OH in general.

As far as the western world goes Glasgow is probably the worst I've been to imo.

Didn't stay but passed through lots of cities in Russia on the trans-siberian railway now those are seriously depressing and bleak places that look like they're still in the Soviet era, you can tell its a hard life for people that have to live there and that very few ever had opportunity to "escape".

just lol at this.

Belize was the best trip Ive ever taken. My college roommate just moved there last week. First, of course Belize City sucks thats why no one goes there for vacation. Ambergris Caye is the best spot. Caye Caulker is awesome. The marine reserve, reef, shark ray alley, etc. Also, it was once of the best priced places ever. Remind me never to go on vacation with you.

i drove through new orleans; worst city ever. electric poles still leaning 45 degrees and getting propped up by wooden beams. drunks and degenerates 24/7. weather is terrible, especially in the summer/fall months

hurricane katrina did that place a favor; unfortunately, the trash that left continue to be trash in the cities they relocated in

If I had to choose it would probably be ho chi minh. Chit is cheap but everyone out there is out to scam you.

Other notable mentions would be cairns and koh samui. I guess my expectations ruined it but they were both chit holes filled with noisy western tourist. Diving wasnt that great either.

Marrakech, Morocco

Less the place, more the people. Crowded as fuk, noisy with endless scooters going round. Constantly getting harassed for money for everything and ate,its to rip you off or rob you. If they even see you with a camera or use a phone you’ll have 3 *******s in your face demanding money. Ask for directions and they’ll get you lost and demand silly money to get you un-lost. Locals all get aggressive if you refuse, quote “you people you come here YOU PAY”. The entire souk just sells the same worthless chit and if you wanted to buy anything it takes a 20min negotiation to get it to something reasonable. Outside of the media it is just bland areas and some posh hotels.

This is as a bloke. If you are a women and especially if blonde/red hair expect to get harassed and groped by swarms of thirsty religion of peace males.

There are undoubtedly ‘worse’ places I’ve been due to poverty, dirt, grime etc. but none as unpleasant an experience.

This. I think some 'mericans only appreciate modern and clean, efficient euro cities these 'aint. I'm sure many also make little effort to go beyond visiting the tourist sites in what are capitals of art and culture.

I would say Manilla Philippines, Phnom Pen Cambodia... I've grown to hate that kind of cheap holiday in other peoples misery kind of travel. Kids with no clothes begging and sniffing glue and desperate hookers.

Went to the womens world cup in Winnipeg a few years ago with a bunch of good friends. Had a great time drinking our faces off for 4 days but the city was a huge chit hole. It's like Detroits poor cousin that lives in Canada.
