$200 is high. Our place has custom and high end finishings, built in appliances, custom lighting and a fireplace in the bathroom and we were under $150/sf for construction. We might have some economy of scale with a larger footprint though.

i'm in toronto too right now.

been taling to many canadians esp females . They're happy with their condos and apartments. Few here want to buy a house (not like there's many homes in toronto). Never have to drive, so that saves you almost $800/month.

most people here are very happy esp women. Toronto is full of fun stuff, jobs and culture. From what I can see, everyone's is making good money and living it up. So I do'nt know what you are doing wrong.

people who buy homes live in the suburbs and those homes are nice but damn the streets are narrow and no overnight parking is a pain.

Lastly, you are a first time home owner and single owner. It's impossible for you. $1.5M isn't expensive cuz most come in with equity so the price is far cheaper. It's $1.5M cuz people can pay for it so that's the market rate. It's not over priced.
Weight Loss: Go carnivore or keto/low carb. Create calorie deficit. Buy packaged healthy meals if needed. Meat is good and heals, stop being lied to.

probably the same except I think we use standard bricks and then render it. I have come to hate modern project houses, I love the diversity of houses built pre or just post ww2.

Say thanks to your Chinese overlords who are ravaging the Canadian housing market because they're trying to get their cash the hell out of China. The same thing is happening in Australia, Sydney is ridiculous and it's now starting to ramp up in Melbourne and Brisbane.

It was the default rate ... I edited it and it's still not affordable on my pay 5200 I'm making 4000 I would need to make 140k to make 7800 and that would only leave me 2.6k a month for expenses beyond my house just LOL

The days of cheap house prices are over unless you want to live next to poor working class peasants. Back in 2013 I put every dollar I had into a fixer-upper downtown, then spent another 2 years of elbow grease + $ for illegal immigrant help and now rent it out to a corporate couple for over 150% of the mortgage (and thats 15 a year mortgage too). All the while I live at home paying half the mortgage here and saving 50% of my take-home pay.

The Chinese didn't just buy up in Canada. California and Australia also were huge destinations.

It's a joke, if you're a first time homebuyer with an FHA, have fun competing with a Chinaman paying cash, over-list, and with no contingencies.

You can obviously still buy, but expect to get outbid quite a lot. If you can find it, I would do a multi-family. It's what I'm saving for right now. You'll have to look in less desirable areas

In canada its only in vancouver and toronto.

you can move any where else but you gotta live in canada's other citys. If you dont want to pay for overpriced houseses. Edmonton the average price for normal house is 400k. calgary is a little more.

Bought my townhouse in Mississauga a year and a half ago. Property values are up something stupid since then. I seriously don't know how the average person is going to be able to afford to buy a place anymore.

Im laughing at the fact OP thinks that house is the average standard of home. Most people don't live in television 3 story houses with crazy yards OP. That house is much nicer than the majority of homes.
