The factory warranty runs 4 years/50 K then the CPO warranty gives you another 2 years/ 50K. So if you get a 2 year old car you're still covered for 4 years and can buy a third party protection plan after that. German cars are expensive to fix but I think it makes more sense to buy a CPO and get the warranty and save the cash for repairs down the road. Those cars depreciate a stupid amount the first couple, it doesn't make sense to buy new unless you CEO 10K/day, let someone else take the hit.

still feel like a 3 coupe looks better somehow

4 series looks too bulky and appears heavy for my liking, even though I have no idea what its dimensions actually are

Lol at everyone saying the BMW's interior is crap when looking at the base model. What car manufacturer in this price range has a luxurious interior in their base model?

I could have sworn you were looking for a 4 door a few weeks ago. I mean, the 440i cost right under $50k, BASE price with no addons. Youv have pretty much any option thats out there, especially if your willing to go for something 3-4 years used and up to 20k miles. Up to cars that use to cost around $75-90k new back in 2013-14'

Op,

4 series has been a solid platform so far.
No major problems or issues with the car.

The 6 cylinder engine in the 440i is the bread and butter of the company, and sounds great on start up and idling.

If speed or power is a concern for you, it has plenty, with a 0-60 MPH right around 4.5 seconds. Feels like your crusing even between 80-120 MPH.

Main reason BMW doesn't waste money on their interiors is because it's a driver's car. The majority of money spent on the platform is the mechanics and chassis. Your car will come with a standard sport suspension, and can be tightened with Sport or Sport + Mode. Eco if you want save gas. The 440i isn't a base model, but even base models significantly out perform Lexus and Audi on average in performance.

Yeah, MSRP is usually around 100k, but when the i8 first came out, dealers jacked up the prices over msrp. Idk about now though.

I am honestly a much bigger fan of BMW interior more than any other competitor. They do it just right. I had the luxury to ride in my friends 2016 Mercedes C63 S AMG coupe, as well as an m4. I think BMW just does things the right way to mix luxury and sport. Something about being behind the wheel of a bmw makes you want to really rape the car around vs. most other competing vehicles. Im biased though, BMW fan boy.

I'm with you man, just speaking to those that believe other automakers interiors are significantly better.

I've driven all of them consistently from the late 90s to now, they each do different things well. Like you mentioned, with Audi and Mercedes you better not have a base model or you interior is going to be rubbish. At least with BMW there is a general consistency from a 320i to a M5. Major interior differences would be the headlining, steering wheel, M badges on running boards, and steering wheel, when you buy top of the line BMWs.

Gimmicky.

Doesn't even hold a candle to the 8 series of the 80's/90's in terms of then-advanced technology. You're basically paying a 3x premium for a Tesla P with gullwing doors and gaudy light blue accents (which are now whored out by their entry level autist scion cubes).


BMW still holds the status crown for many in that midrange price market. Don't get me wrong, I like BMW's and owned 2 myself, but for the price these days I'd give much more consideration into a loaded C class coupe or S line.

The 440 is nice but at that point I'd have got an M4, my m240i was a lot cheaper & is a little bit faster.

Those 405 wheels in the OP tho, just no.
