Choking doesn't take you from fine to shaking uncontrollably that fast feggit.
Highly possible that she was choking for a good minute before anyone noticed and she was too in the moment to realize what was happening and kept eating, or no one else there noticed what was happening because it was a "fun" competition and they were stuck in the moment as well.

Brahs, how do you save someone from choking?

Usually I would just pound someone on the back a couple times, which probably doesn't even help, but feels good to slap em on the back, so I do that.

But I imagine at some point, you'd literally have to reach in with your hand into the persons throat? And how would you even know where to go from there, and not even sure my hand could fit in someones mouth, and if it could, surely they'd have a better chance by doing it themselves as they can feel where the food is stuck

Seems like a hard thing to prevent as an outsider

I think pancake might be the worst kind of thing to wedge into your throat, it's not like a single stuck grape or nut or something. It probably filled up inches of her throat and it's all mushy n' chit, only thing I would've thought to do is find a rod of some kind and stick it down her throat to try and clear a passageway through it all.

She was a child psychologist or something. Can't remember. Something like that. Article just looking to throw out the fact that her dad died in 9/11 (which is sad, but not really relevant).
