Sacred Heart University junior Caitlin Nelson, 20, went into convulsions during the flapjack contest at a Greek Life dinner Thursday night.
Witnesses said Nelson ate four or five pancakes before she fell on the floor and started shaking uncontrollably, sources said.
The Fairfield Police Department said cops rushed to the scene and tried to clear her airway — but their attempts failed.

That is tragic. You kind of feel for the organization in that eating five pancakes is not really that extreme of a behavior, generally speaking. I assume the immediate public reaction will brutally condemn this school Greek Life organization.

When you are choking u don't violently convulse, you grab at ur throat and bend over. You start to black out or turn blue. There's 6-8 mins of leeway in choking to save the person.

Sounds like there was way more to the story. You don't just die like that. Convulsions? They should look at the autopsy. Def something else going on.

choke=cant breath=brain cant oxygenate adequately= seizure. Sounds about right. And dislodging something for someones airways isn't as easy as the movies make it look.
