I want to buy a driving range. Put a sick bar at it. A couple of these gambling machines they legalized a few years back. Host long drive competitions.

That would be sick.

ate dinner at a local bar last week, it's right next to a driving range. I thought it would be a great idea for them to partner up. get a free beer with a large bucket or something like that, 1/2 off a bucket if you buy 2 beers. there's grass next to the outdoor eating area of the restaurant. they should set up mats and have waitresses bring you drinks while you hit balls. I think it'd be a hit.

point is I think that's a great business idea. only reason ranges fail is that they suck at getting people to come regularly. but it's a pretty low overhead business, and low maintenance. I worked at 2 ranges when I was younger. best job ever. was just high the whole time, rarely anyone there, so I'd hit buckets and buckets of balls. driving the cart was pretty stressful though. not that you could get hurt, but just the sound of a ball on your little metal cage, and not knowing when it would happen, would **** your **** right up.

played yesterday and today. one under on the front, fukking 5 over on the back. yesterday shot even with 6 birdies 2 doubles and 2 bogeys. I'll be back in primo golf shape soon…

30 was the worst year of my life, lol. Sometimes you just need to experience some ****ed up **** to realize how easy you really have it. One thing I can tell you for sure is that worrying about the future is a complete waste of time. Focus on the things you can control today, and the future will take care of itself.

I understand not getting worked up over something that may never happen…but at the same time, I'd like to not have money taken out of my check that I'll never see because others won't invest in their future.

The nihilist in me keeps me from caring about that, TBH. But I can see how it could be irksome to others.

True, but we can hope that it is going towards infrastructure, schools, and other vital services that we need. I know it doesnt always happen that way.

That would be nice…I miss living in a state of "ignorance is bliss". I know a lot of the money is technically going to infrastructure, schools and other vital services…the problem is they are still awful thanks to the unions (at least in my area). And then there are the other things…women on WIC that are walking around in designer clothes and driving a new audi. The people filing for bankruptcy because they wanted a house they could never afford and either didn't bother to google what ARM or just didn't care. Some people shouldn't be allowed to manage money even if it is their own…and that includes government organizations.

If it makes you feel better, most of your money is being spent irresponsibly by the Department of Defense.

amen. so many of the people I interact with have no sense of personal responsibility. they speak in terms of things happening to them instead of being responsible for their lives. and the government has enabled it for too long. I think/hope that's changing though, slowly.

Seeing that would infuriate me too. Do you think it's a case where programs like WIC are not properly managed? Vetted?

My assumption is they either don't put in the effort or have the resources necessary to conduct audits of those that are on assistance to confirm if the need is legit. Shame…if they would…in less than a year they would recomp more than enough money to pay for those resources and then some. Way too many people playing the system.
