If anyone is worried about their caffeine intake just remember there have been scientific trials done where athletes are given upwords of 1,000 mg of caffeine. 100% this man died from a undiagnosed heart condition exacerbated by caffeine.

Deff a heart condition. People take upwards to 1g a day of caffeine and are fine.

Was talking to some people about this. He was nowhere near a lethal dose. They claimed he had no underlying health issues or drug/alcohol abuse problems, but this doesn't add up.

That's excessive. And just because they didn't have any life threatening reaction does not me that they are "fine."

Would you drink a cup of salt? Its not the product itself that's harmful, rather, the excessive use/abuse of it that causes the issues -- which is possible with anything. This is an example of an otherwise benign product that canbecomedangerous when consumed in ultra high amount within a short span of time.

Even vitamins can be toxic if taken in high doses. OD on vitamin A and see how messed up your day will become.

That is the thing 500 mgs of caffeine is a pretty mild dose for most of us on this site...

I feel bad for the family. But yeah, must have been some heart issue. I do remember taking 3 scoops of Jack3d plus a scoop of NO Xplode back in the day after school on a semi-empty stomach. I must have been 16-17 at the time.

Lol I'd max out on Jack3d because I hated the flavor and wanted it gone, added NO xplode for the flavor and pump ingredients. Oh man have I changed.

I'll go up to 600mg on those very tough workout days when I'm tired or really need a boost. But these are not something I'd refer to as "mild" doses. Two cups of coffee/day is pretty safe for most adults. Otherwise, I'd consider 150-200mg (1 cup) as mild.

What a lot of people fail to realize is that there is apoint of diminishing returnwhere too much caffeine does more harm than good. Your body has a limit, so more after a point is not better. It just causes more jitters and/or negative side-effects.

Caffeine is not joke bros.

In 1912 when the Harrison act was passed that outlawed ******* and heroin and other drugs caffine was originally on the list of things to be banned.

Its garbage.

Could definitely be tolerance. If you drink coffee everyday you can drink a lot. If it's your first time, you will be shaky after one cup.

I was reading the other day about a guy who's friends kept saying he was fat even though he wasn't, he told his wife he was going to get these fat burners from Ebay or some chit to lose weight.

Anyway he gets them and takes a few, and ends up having a heart attack and dies in the ambulance.

The blood results came back showing he had the caffeine equivelant of300 cupsof coffee in his system. srs

They said even if he had survived he would be brain damaged.

Edit: my bad, it was 300 cups.

Chit like this scares me. When I was a young and stupid high schooler I popped a whole pack of pro plus (caffeine pills) washed down with a can of monster. I was super edgy all day but nothing too bad. A year later I found out I had a heart condition and had to have valve replacement surgery that year. I was so ****ing lucky that my stupidity didn't wipe me off the face of this earth like it did to this kid.

The caps are concentrated (faster absorbing) as opposed to being in the natural -- with other stuff -- form.

Stop exaggerating. Its not dangerous, but there is always the potential for abuse.

Underlying issue thats gonna get blammed on energy drinks. Everything in excessive amounts can be bad for you. I can take in 400mg of caffiene and take a nap.

Its an unfortunate accident but that kid had something wrong with him already, the caff just triggered. it.

Excessive amounts of anything is bad for us. I feel bad for the kid and I do not think what he did was excessive at all. The article says he did not have a pre existing condition. I find this hard to believe.
