I remember watching a Floyd fight on Youtube a few months ago (old fight) where he outmatched the opponent by such a massive margin, it was disgusting. Floyd didn't knock the guy out, didn't have the power, but it was so many clean shots to the head that it was sad to watch. Especially the counters.

Anyone know the fight?

This is what I hope doesn't happen.

I think it did eventually get stopped if I recall, despite the opponent being fully concious and not in danger.

lol I don't know why people bother debating this

Just youtube search "MMA fighter vs boxer" or something of that sort, and there's tons of videos showing Boxers sparring MMA fighters, etc

A boxer who goes into an MMA bout with no discipline gets leg chopped or taken down and destroyed. A boxer who does learn some takedown and leg defense usually fairs well to some degree, wouldn't say excel, they win and lose here and there. While an MMA fighter vs a boxer under Boxing style rules, even just sparring, the fight always looks one-sided with the MMA fighter having no chance of redemption.

Boxing is one-dimension so there are limited options when you are dealt with other dimensions of combat. It's easier to win in MMA for that very reason, because of how well rounded a fighter has to be, and if they aren't they can be style mogged bad. While boxing has incredibly more depth in comparison, while having no other options to win. So if you don't have the skills, you're not going to win, period. Those "one-punch" surprise KOs happen by well placed shots, not just some guy swinging and getting lucky. If all it took was to swing wild and get that lucky punch in, then you'd see it happen way more often, anyone could do it. But that's not how it truly works.

Mayweather had the power, but gatti had one of the hardest jaws in boxing history.


His three slugfests with Ward prove the point.

It's worth remembering Gatti was a brawler, very much like Ricky Hatton, and Mayweather loves fighting brawlers, as they always come forward allowing Mayweather to implement his devestating counter punches.

That check-hook tho....

I'm pretty sure Money has flopped more guys on his back foot rather than his front.

boxing is the art of moving without getting hit and hitting someone . floyd will toy with him and get that decision and huge pay day. even implying that conor has some hidden special talent that ALL of the people floyd fought from amateur to his retirement fight dont have is extremely silly. even sillier is basing a whole fight plan on 'what if he hits him one time real hard'.

one thing to remember is aldo was talking all the **** floyds supporters are talking now (a key difference being floyd himself seems pretty respectful from the little bit i read) about how mcgregor was all talk and out of his league and he got cocky and look what happened there lol

i would actually make effort to watch mcgregor fight mayweathers dad. if mcgregor fights mayweather ill probably look for it on the intenet a few months later.
