'The moment of silence was badly communicated. The day before the game, we were briefed about what was supposed to happen, in which nothing was said about a moment of silence. This was only mentioned just before the start of the game. It was unclear for the saudi's what the moment of silence was, because it's not a custom for them. Of course we have respect for the victims, but we show that with prayers and love. We (the technical staff) didn't know of anything. We could only react from the moment that the refery gave the sign'.
Also, watching the vid, their team was silent. They probably spread out due to the confusion, but didn't act like chimps or anything. Just because they don't stand in line with each other, it doesn't count anymore?

We need to tackle the root causes of these issues. A minutes silence could be a minute worth of radical Islamists being deported or a minutes worth of closed borders. The victims families deserve more than silence they deserve a thorough investigation, action and change in laws/ policies.

I don't understand the minute silence done here. There is no connection between a soccer game and these terrorism victims. Now if some former soccer great died the previous day then I would understand because it's the right setting. I guess I am in the minority here but if I was in the crowd I would have stood up like everyone else. I just want to watch sport and not have it mixed with everything else.
