They did know. The Australian officials approached the Arabs and told them hey we wana have a moment of silence before the match. They said nope they don't agree and wont do it. So the Australians knew beforehand that they didn't wana do it.

All the players knew what was going on don't be stupid, only one of the players was man enough to show some respect and kept his hands behind his back, but hey #notallmuslims rrrrrrright?

“The Saudi Arabian Football Federation deeply regrets and unreservedly apologizes for any offense caused by the failure of some members of the representative team of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to formally observe the one minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the London terrorist attack on June 3rd, 2017, prior to the World Cup Qualifying match against Australia in Adelaide.

The players did not intend any disrespect to the memories of the victims nor to cause upset to their families, friends or any individual affected by the atrocity

The damage is done though. I don't know wtf they were thinking initially. Muslimsshouldshow respect towards other cultures. There's nothing in Islam that I know of that suggests that a moment of silence is not allowed. Also, I don't know why I keep seeing "Sheikh" Mohammad Tawhidi everywhere. The dude is a fake and isn't recognized as a scholar by the vast majority of Muslims.
