I've gotten into a good pattern with my wife that has been working well.
She tells me something doesn't matter, or she doesn't care about something, or that she wants me to do something (but I know she is trying to say something else).
I stop what I am doing, turn around and look her full in the eye, and say "stop. tell me exactly what you are thinking. exactly."
and she will pause, overcome that huge feminine inability to speak plainly...I can see the internal struggle in her eyes...and she will tell me exactly what she means.
I then smile and say "perfect. I can do that."
it works brahs try it.

Yeah I see that a lot. It's almost giving permission to speak your mind / make a decision
Hopefully you're slowly building her confidence to do that without needing the permission part
