having kids is probably bloody terrible. Especially in todays society where we got trannies and and gay people raising children, teen suicide on a rise, ****ty job economy pretty much a society going down the ****ter.
However if no one had kids we would die out as a human race.
So basically its ****ed both ways.

I have 2 young kids. I can honestly say that my life was better before they arrived.
Hopefully it will get better as they get older. And maybe one of them will look after me when I can't remember my name and keep ****ting the bed.

If you think you would value your current interests and activities (movies, games, hanging out with friends, going out the bar, etc...) over taking care of a kid, then shouldn't have one.

Sure in your 40s you'll have a cool life without any obligations and can do whatever the hell you want. live abroad for a few years? - Why not
But once you're older like 60-70 you'll be alone. sure you might have a wife which will be there with you but possibilities are that one of you dies long before the other and then you're alone until you die.
I've met some friends of my parents who were all about that "no kid life" when my parents were having me and my brother and now that they are ~65 and retired they have all the time in the world but there are not many left to spend that time with.
So yes I'd say on the long run you'll miss out on alot of things which might not yet be valuable to you but which later will!

Grand kids are where its at!
I have four kids and three grandsons and a fourth on the way.
Best of both worlds.
Grand kids come over, I get to spoil them and then they go home.
Win win for me!

I have five kids and could not imagine life without them. Their accomplishments feel 300 times more rewarding than your own so while they are massive time and money vacuums you will be repaid by the joy they will bring to your life.

Kids suck , anyone who says otherwise is just trying to cope with the mistake they made by not pulling out and aiming for the girl's face .

Everyone I know who has had children = bitterly tired and miserable.
Children, especially in 2017 are degenerate af and ruin lives.

I wouldn't do it because you want someone to be there when you're older, that seems like a bit of a daft reason to do it. If you want to do it then you'll get a large amount of pleasure while you're raising them, but also will be very tired as they do stop you from sleeping. Well when young anyway. Other than that the experience from my perspective has been positive.

yes...you are throwing the evolutionary game...the one thing you were put on this earth to do...the only thing all life is meant to do is survive to replicate.
You need to go out there and fulfill this imperative or you will feel unhappy because you evolved to feel unhappy. Reproducing and having your offspring reproduce is successfully winning at the game of life.
Also much like bacteria in a dish, we will hopelessly replicate until we exhaust the resources in the dish and die. It is a tragedy of the commons situation. You wouldn't want to selflessly sacrifice your own opportunity to reproduce so that Javier can have 5 kids and pass on his genes.
This is why we are phucked as a species. One day wars will be fought over who ought to be allowed to phuck, the govts will incentivize homosexuality, birth control, and take measures to sterilize the undesirable and there will be a preferred class of breeders in the world.
It's funny because what we are seeing is the irrational opposite. A lot of wealthy, well educated people, especially women are waiting too long to have even one kid while Javier is having lke 5. Patel and Wang overseas are also having like 5 kids. You can imagine who will come to dominate humanity in the future.
You rich, educated folks need to start pushing out babies and stopping them from having so many of their own or you will see a very rapid inversion of power. It's simple biology and economics.

Our daughter talked about wanting siblings from around age 5 to about age 10. She has spent time with other families that have multiple children. I think that exposure may have changed her mind because while she still liked to spend time with other kids she also likes that she doesn't really have to share or compromise. Not saying that is good for her, just saying.
I think financially it is definitely easier. We just have one kid to feed, dress, educate, take on vacation, get a car for, send to college, etc.
I worry about her not having any family ties at a relatively early age. Then again having siblings doesn't really guarantee anything. AFAIK my brothers love me, but we aren't really close and in a pinch the most help I would expect from them would be help moving...a defined one off task.

srsly what does all life have in common? it survives to replicate. That is the purpose of life. Everything else is an abstraction of that one basic idea. Everything else we do was meant to support that one basic goal. That's why we love sex so much. We evolved to love sex. That's why so many people define their lives around their kids. Life is literally about raising kids.
If you voluntarily invest energy in your own survival without fathering children, you are literally cucking yourself. You are investing your own energy in someone else's reproductive success since you contribute to the economy. Think about it. A phucking rapist who fathers kids is considered better than you from an evolutionary standpoint. You lose the evolutionary game.
If you want to cuck yourself, go right ahead, but Javier is winning. If you people knew anything, you'd take measures to stop Javier from having kids while having your own. Those brutal warmongers who killed all the men and took their women had the right idea. People like Genghis Khan were the most successful humans, while men like Isaac Newton never fathered children. It's a cuck or be cucked world bro.

I gave up work to look after them throughout preschool. Actually looked after another baby too for a day a week for a little extra coffee money
When they reached school age I went back to work (new career but didn't know at the time thought it was just a job) during term time and restricted hours so that husband dropped them at school and I picked them up ....I kept having opportunities thrown at me and took them on my terms ..it's now lucrative and fulfilling
Also, before you go there, I earned more than husband when we met and owned my own place ...he now earns more than me but that took a few years and life changes
Does it burn to be so wrong?
