good starting choices. make sure you watch in japanese/subs or else and get used to it. srs. english voice actors cannot compare to japanese voice actors at all in level of skill. voice actors in japan are like hollywood celebrities because of how good they are. though they are severely underpaid.

For OP I would suggest you to start with Attack on Titan, Death Note. If you're into gaming then maybe Sword Art Online Season 1.

They're considered introduction level anime, if you like them then you may proceed into darker anime

Currently watching Death Note. It's actually really good. I would recommend Attack on Titan though as it is one of the best.

Its about a guy who is going nowhere in life and his struggles to pay his debt. He ends up getting on last chance, a boat casino where his life is literally on the line.

DBZ is the chit, but OP shouldn`t be afraid to start with regular Dragon Ball (when goku was a kid) - That was what I first saw and loved it and then when I saw my first episode of dragonball z I creamed my pants

i watched naruto for years when i was a kid. was a waste of time. even the manga theres just way too much material to go through. i watched a recap of the series and yes it was going downhill for years
dont recomend it.


death note is one of the best tv shows ive watched period. not even in anime (not that i watch a lot anyways) but its good pacing, good story, etc. really fits the anime "realm" well. all the live movies sucked. a big reason why its so good is because its only 40 episodes or something so theres no filler. its just story told at its own pace.


one punch man is kind of a satire as in how absurd the characters are. fun watch.



all that being said, anime was a mistake.
