all of the people who are/were bitching about faceID are phucking liars. Before buying the phone I thought faceID would be chit because of all the people saying it was chit. But its actually really good. Works around 95% of the time. Only time it doesn't work is if the phone is too close to my face (which usually happens if I'm lying down).

I like mine quite a bit. OLED is goat. Don’t care for FaceID, though.

had the X for a couple weeks, it was a solid phone but faceiD would not work 100% of the time. not accepting 9 out of 10 effeciency, im not a mindless sheep

returned it promptly.

decided to go with pixel xl 2 and holy sh*t, this thing is master race.

camera alone is 10/10 plus it has touchID which is goat.

I have it and I like it. Upgraded from a 6+.

Face ID works a lot better than I expected. When setting it up, I also held the phone at a bit of an angle so it would map my face from a position I’d realistically be using my phone from. It’s really quick and works even when I’m just partially glancing at my phone at an angle or laughing or something like that. It also works in really low light too.

Downside is when you’re lying in bed looking at your phone because you’re usually holding it right up to your face and it won’t recognize you because it wasn’t trained for that. So you end up having to extend your arm out to unlock it. I just put a four digit passcode. It’s mildly annoying, but not enough that I’d consider it a real detractor and not enough to keep me from saying that I prefer Face ID over the fingerprint scanner by quite a lot.

After about a day you also get used to not having a home button. Feels a lot more intuitive. Going back to my iPhone 6+ is clunky af.

The speed of everything is really nice, as is the battery, but that’s to be expected when you go from a 6+ to just about any newer phone.

I used to lol at the notch upon seeing the initial pictures of iPhone X, but it honestly doesn’t bother me at all and I don’t really notice it. If you want videos to take up the entire screen to make the most of the extra 0.3” or so that you get over the Plus models of iPhone, then the notch is going to get in the way. Otherwise, there will be black boxes on the sides that simulate the bevels of the old phones, so you don’t really get any improvement over the old phones in the screen size department.

Feels nice in the hand because you have that nice 5.8” screen like my small penor, but the lack of bevels makes it feel like a non-Plus. And the glass back also feels good. I like to use my phones RAW, with NO CONDOM, even though I broke two iPhone 6 Pluses and the consequences are expensive.

Overall, I’m VERY happy with the phone. I was initially going to wait for the next version of this to come out, or an even bigger one, but I needed a new phone and liked iPhones and couldn’t really justify going from a 6 to a 7 or 8 since they’re too similar. Happy with my decision to go for an X.

it is probably a more recent thing as phones are now being released more often, up to twice a year.. or in the last instance for apple 3 phones at once.
