Those have an NRR of, what, 22? That's not very good, especially indoors with rifles for people not accustomed. What I posted with an NRR of 31 basically literally cuts the sound in half compared to those thin little impact sports. It's a big difference...especially with the sharp crack and pressure wave of a rifle indoors

I"d be putting plugs under those impact sports indoors or under a roof with a rifle.

Definitely agree with the bolded ones. Offer other gvt jobs to transition into when they get to be Taf's age(ayylmao) and can no longer meet physical requirements

I also gree with better pay also but wouldn't removing the unions make that harder? Plus mandatory recurring training will be big $$ to add to the budget. A lot of cities can't even afford to fill in potholes let alone pay their police officers a better wage

Couple short clips from yesterday morning. Filmed the wrong way like an *******.
First one is out the holster, 3 shots center mass, reload, three shots center mass. Fumbled the reload a bit and didn't have the gun in my working area. (Was early in the morning/trip.) Second one is out the holster, three shots center mass, reload, one shot to the cranium. Reload was much smoother and faster on this one. Just fuking off seeing how fast I can go before I start throwing rounds out of combat effective hit boxes.

Looking into potentially getting a .50 cal to play with and have as a good investment. The first thing that comes to mind is the Barrett M82A1/M107. If you all had $10k to spend on a rifle, what would it be?

LoL

for that same money you could get a tier 1 AR15, A SCAR, ammo to last for a bit, and THEN enough left over to go to some of the best training academies in the country a few times a year for a few years

Bought a Nikon PROSTAFF RIMFIRE II for my Ruger Charger thinking it would be a good fit but I'm starting to think I goofed. Looks like a Ruger takedown backpacker is in order.

It's not an investment.

Get it if you want, and hundreds of rounds of ammo of course, but don't consider it an investment. Plan to keep it.

I wouldn't spend anything near that on a rifle unless I already had several each handguns and easy portable semi auto rifles (5.56 and/or .308) along with, ****, IDK, 20k rounds of ammo of each type and probably 50 good mags of each type.

Then I'd probably get a Barrett

10K is alot of money to spend on one firearm. I think id rather have multiple 308 ARs in different configurations with lots of spare mags and ammo

btw, you can get a bolt action barrett model 99 for about 4K

Always spend more money on the optic than the rifle. No point in shooting something that you cant see, even out of a .22. Nikon does not make a quality optic, period.

Already have an LWRC AR, SCAR 17s, and ammo. The training academies would be awesome though.

10k on anything is an investment and I could definitely see BS legislation down the line banning 50s. I would definitely plan to keep it though. Like I said above, I already have the handguns and other stuff I want. Just really looking for opinions from any of you guys who own one or have shot different models.

Yeah if I was to get a bolt .50, I'd be looking at the Drake Stalker with McMillan action.

....But did you know there is a new optional available for a gun the SAME capacity of a medium/compact frame pistol, and magically squeezes it into the frame of a micro-carry gun? Well, now there is. Introducing the Sig sauer p365. sig's flagship micro carry gun. Bring more everyday. 12 rounds, seriously.

Stack with foam plus if needed
I put batteries in the HL and Used them last time at the indoor range. I heard freaking everything. It was too loud. They didn’t protect against shot sounds at all. They were 22 as well, as you pointed out the ones sword has.

I might buy these after all or just use some foams with the Howard Leight. I have clear armour ones that have worked well but those peltor ones you linked look great.

I bought two safety glasses and two ear protectors when I first planned on going to the range so I can take in a guest with me whether it be family or friend.

Depends on what you want to use it for. Just home defense and range toy . . . or do you (maybe) plan to concealed carry at some point? Budget?

FOr HD/range, the stock answers are Glock 19, H&K VP9 (or even the SK) or Walther PPQ m2. If you want smaller and concealable--there are some other options you'd want to consider. We always recommend renting/trying before buying when possible.

Cant conceal, live in LA. Mainly home defense, range / desert toy, etc. Budget 1k give or take a few. I'll check those out but out of everything I've shot, I like the feel of the 1911. I will def try others before buying though.
