Strong potato.
Put any NFL HB in a Rugby field and I'd guarantee they are the best players in the field. Put a guy like Todd Gurley or Fournette on the field and the skill difference would be absolutely ridiculous.

And yes ofc they could develop endurance but inevitably that comes at the cost of lost strength/power

source: i was an athlete. zack greinke hates interviews and wont interview (even as a pro)(and i believe his contract is like 230 million). adam laroche used to lock himself in the closet at night and turn off all the lights
i also think you take the genetics thing too far. you have to take into account that a lot of these guys may have simply loved their sport more = more time devoted to it, more money spent on it, etc.
my big bro was a stud at baseball. so i grew up with him playing. by the time i was 10 i was so far beyond where he was at that age + got a lot of benefits
its literally all we did. meanwhile, those less serious about sports are more serious about school, etc.
idk, its a hard thing to measure. but i do think you can train most people. definitely beyond where they currently are. whether that means they can measure up to the best i do not know, and i dont think anybody knows
also, have to take into account that most of them are dumb as hell because of the aforementioned use of time AND OR it could be that its the only thing they were good at

To be fair, the physical requirements for rugby league are much different, with less of a priority on strength and power. In fact, professionals only lift weights 2x a week during the season.
Also, Jarryd Hayne, the guy in the photo, is known for being a lazy trainer.

Every time there was a hit both of the guys eased up. Just makes sense sense since they don't wear pads. But I got think un padded NFL players would make harder hits.
Yeah NFL is most short bursts of speed and then waiting around. But other then the scrum it seemed like most of the line was casually walking around waiting for the action to come to them.

Also during the crisis, schools were dropping football in favor of rugby because it was safer.

TBH the best athletes in the world have endurance, it's a key part of athletic performance.
I'd expect nothing less from *golf crew* though, strong sport. Golf is literally the most pussy sport of all time, that's why most of the people that play it are retired and decrepit.

I don't think UK brahs realize how insane high school sports are in the U.S. I went to a public high school in the midwest and we had an daily weight training, an insane weight room, another weight room just for wrestlers, personal trainers, physical therapy, dietitian, etc.

It has nothing to do with raw genetics, a lot to do with circumstances.

Prolly like anywhere else tbh. A subset are absolute slayers and players, another subset have wife/ gf, etc., and another subset are quiet and keep to themselves
No doubt women throw themselves at them though. Minor league or major league

NFL: Focus on Strength, Speed
Rugby: Focus on Endurance and Ball skills.
So yeah, NFL guys are bigger because they can afford to be. Rugby players are tougher and have better endurance because they need to have.
Its different games, can't compare the two.
As for who can take bigger hits, impossible to say since hits in football are more brutal BECAUSE of pads and the stop start way of playing. Rugby is more continuous and most hits are not straight on ( though there are plenty ).
