18" arms at 5'7 190 are insanely massive. Good job having absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Think this guy is trolling. No one is this dumb.

How anyone could be a legit bodybuilder/powerlifter and not laugh at this guy's form is astonishing to me. The guy is a complete joke and shouldn't be let anywhere near a weight bench with that bull****.

Did not realize he was a manlet. For a manlet having 18" is decent, but is the guy jacked? Hell no. He doesn't look anywhere nearly big enough to be on juice, so I give credit for doing whatever the **** he does naturally. Whatever the **** that is with ridiculously poor form.

And to be fair, anyone with average genetics could get to the size of the guy in the IG video with 2-3 years of decent lifting. So to put this guy in anything other than an avg to slightly above avg cheat lifter category is ridiculous.

He has barely any muscle mass, esp for a powerlifter, and clearly is nowhere near a bodybuilder. Like I said, he may have some cheat techniques to get a weight up, but legit strong with proper form? No ****ing way.

Spoiler alert, he pulls sumo and squats wide. No one squats wide since it's way more physically demanding on your hips and mobility and is almkst always weaker than a standard or narrow stance for the majority of people and he pulls pretty normal compared to every other sumo deadlifter. He's nowhere near the best squatter or the best deadlifter in his class, hell his bench isn't even the best either. He's outbenched by quite a few people who arch way less so it's not like he is breaking any records or has the strongest bench at his meets cause of it. It's completely legal so he's taking every lb he can get one way or another

These threads are the best. They quickly expose those that have no clue about certain areas of a hobby and others that are just weak in general. The entire topic has been beaten into the ground and when something like lifting was made a competition then it opens the door for doing things within the rules and still completing a lift. I cannot do what that kid does and I’m 40 lbs heavier...shrug. I think people get too angry over it.

Let's just call it what it is. He's bending the rules (along with his back) to the best of his ability. Obviously he's allowed to do it since it's within the rules, but impressive is hardly the word I'd use to describe it. The rules were put in place so that people wouldn't be able to decrease the range of motion to this extent. That this guy has the ability to exploit a loophole to break the spirit of the rule while still not breaking the letter of the rule doesn't make it impressive.

That said, of course the guy is strong.

Bending the rules is subjective though. I am personally not a huge fan of the crazy bench arch but I’d also arch a hell of a lot more during my lifts if I had the mobility to do so.

There are several things in the hobby that people don’t like but we are also not the ones to determine what is ok or not. Like the girl that deadlifted 545 sumo with straps at like 125 lbs...I was waiting for videos of dudes strapping up and doing 250 more than their max pull simply by changing where their feet are and adding straps. IG should be littered with 180 lbs guys easily breaking the floor with 800 lbs but I can’t find them...
[img]https://i.imgur.com/4er4sRs.gif[/mg]
Fixed my post and removed the poor choice of the word "bouncing"
The weightbouncesis launched off his chest via motion of leg driving his feet through the floor, thus pivoting the fulcrum that is his pelvis (ass on the bench) thrusting his spine towards the back of the bench stopped by his upper traps being stuck into the top of the bench causing his spine to arch violently as the force meets in the middle of the arch (his chest), it's moving at 80MPH before he even starts pressign with his arms. I get it hes a "power" lmfao "lifter". Such power. It should be called torque lifting.

Like you said since he can't push 225 and managed 455, it should be easy right? Make a video of yourself with an arch and wide grip doing 455 lmao. Go on we'll wait. Guaranteed 455 will cru you on the decent evening with a so called "3 inch ROM". Pro tip most people normal and close grip also till last few weeks of comp prepping

Lol at anyone who arches. One inch range of motion is the difference between a 225 bench and 250 for some ppl. Let alone 8 inches like some people do haha

Yeah the funny thing is that the people on this forum mocking some 5 foot woman for deadlifting a lot or whatever are never putting up those numbers themselves.

The way it goes should be "their form sucks, here's me lifting/pulling/pushing the same amount, this is how it's done" ,NOT, "their form sucks, the lift doesn't count".

At the end of the day my question is: why cope if you're not even in competition with these people? If you are and believe their form violates competition rules, report that. If you're not in competition...let them do wtf they want, and focus on yourself.

ITT: People bashing someone who is considerably stronger than them regardless of his form. Really shouldn't even be a question, try arching as much as you can and then bench with your index finger on the ring of a power bar. Guarantee none of you guys will be able to come close to your max, however low it is.
