Saw the movie yesterday. Not quite Rogue One status but better than TLJ. Only 1 scene with Lando was cringe worthy. If the pansexual article never came to light, you wouldn't of known it. The robotic sjw was full of cringe. Worst character in the flick. Maul is in the movie but only last about maybe 30 seconds.

Hologram of Maul at the end. Last maybe 30 seconds and the hologram doesn't even look that good.

Edit...some minor dialogue. He's about as significant as the emperors hologram in Empire. Just to show who's behind it all.

I've always wondered if the SJWs ever sit around and considers the fact that they wouldn't be breathing on this planet if it wasn't for the faction of society that can't stand them but still has a sense of morality. Do they even remotely understand that the only place their chit is tolerated on such a grand scale is western culture? Yeah man, not sure. I'm curious as well. I'm a little skeptical Disney is only doing this to promote an agenda. Or maybe the agenda they are promoting is the one that will yield the easiest money for the least amount of work?

I think if they got their act together and got a solid director with good actors and writing, they could really make a solid buck while putting something out with some substance. Same goes for Marvel movies and Jurassic Park ones.

My assumption is the easy buck with all this pandering nonsense was researched to be the best way to go. Im with you though. I don't get it. Just turning me off from movies I used to really enjoy and have high hopes for.

EDIT: Same for ESPN. From what I can remember ESPN has had its numbers declining for a bit now and sure ESPN injecting politics into random sports shows could be a part of it.

The way I see it is that the western world seems to be primarily focused on who "outprogresses" the other. Not trying to be progressive is automatically bigoted according to these people, after all. As if there's no spectrum, just a coin.

Anyway Disney wants to be at the forefront of progression, and doing everything to avoid accusations of bigotry - especially given how influential it already is in the film and entertainment industry. They're Christopher Columbus. Star Wars is their boat. And the to-be discovered America is a globalised Eutopia where no-one can ever be offended or oppressed. Europe is the patriarchy, and any time before "the current year".

All of the new SW movies have been a major let down due to injecting a specific political belief and making italmostmore important than the damn Star Wars movie itself. It's ridiculous.


Nobody should care too much about a movie, but unfortunately, I always thought Star Wars was so important to our culture and the one protected franchise. It actually mattered to most all of us as kids, it was the pinnacle of Hollywood franchises. It was a HUGE impact to the whole country. People don't understand how big of an impact social movements have on everything, and SW was a social movement.

So, I think we all hoped that Hollywood would actually care about this serious and protect our history/culture (as ridiculous at that sounds) and not sell out the franchise for cheap money. It's gone so far downhill for the sake of agendas that it distracts from any quality in the stories they tell. It's hard to enjoy the story when the politics of it is so blatant and in your face. The only thing more frustrating are the occasional people who pretend this isn't happening because it makes them feel good/superior, it's just ignorance.

:/ sad to see. I guess I'm hoping it fails hard also so that they hit the reset button.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the best Star Wars movie since the original trilogy. Absolutely captured the right feel, just set in Marvel's universe

I highly doubt it will be the SJW stuff that does the movie in, or at least that will not be the narrative. I assume they'll talk about fatigue setting in for the franchise, which is actually quite true. The new ones have been fun for me in spite of the blatant pandering but I have yet to watch any of them for a second time and I suspect that's actually the dominant feeling for the average person who doesn't really think much about the SJW stuff

Same company. Eventually Marvel will turn into another vehicle for SJW bullsh*t. The people in charge are radicals. They can't control themselves to make normal entertainment. It has to "say" something (Something SJW of course)

Hell we're already seeing the beginnings of it with Spider-Man Homecoming bringing up "slaves building the Washington Monument" and them having to go out of our way to show that Black Panther's sister is smarter than Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. That kind of thing is only eye-rolling for now, but eventually its gonna go full Star Wars.

Flash was an Indian and MJ was Zendaya, who I at first rolled my eyes over, and I'd never heard of her before, but she kind of won me over in The Greatest Showman. She's got history with Disney, so her casting makes sense. With Flash, I guess they wanted to update the character, to make him less of a physical bully, which makes sense - in 2018 if someone shoves you in your locker, if you report them to the school, they'll be arrested, unlike the 1960s when nobody cared.

I can live with some blackwashing of history, only because the original comics were reflections of the majority-white times and it's no longer the 1960s.

What bothers me is when it's too much. When every team of fighting commandos is 50/50 men to women, with every "gender" being represented, every group of people looks like the Burger King Kid's Club, when gays who are like 2-5% of society make up 1/3 of the cast, where every single black character is "woke", etc... I'm sure that level of forced diversity is different for everyone, but overall I have no problem with actual diversity. It won't kill me to see a gay character. My own wife isn't white, so I don't mind seeing more representation on the screen -- but the problem is when it goes too far, which is the case with the Last Jedi.

... where every male character is effeminate, the most masculine and in charge are all women, with agendas shoved down my throat when I don't want any agenda-pushing, even if I agreed wholly with it. The Marvel movies, thus far, have managed to keep from going too far but not Star Wars...
