If you’re all worked up over diminished value on a car that’s going to plummet in resale anyway then you have no business owning a 185k car *******.

Go lease a Ford Fusion and quit your bitching.

So going back and forth with insurance I just might not get ****ed over on this.

Except im going to go to Porsche dealership today, after speaking to a manager at a dealership, for a diminished value estimate now and get one once the damage is reported on the car history.

Yes because diminished value from someone hitting my vehicle on car history is the same as NORMAL "DEPRECIATING" VALUE that is expected to happen to a new car.

Find the absolute best rated shop in your area. Diminished return isn't an issue if the body shop does excellent work and knows how to properly blend paint.

Your wasting your time on the estimate. Unless you lawyer up, the insurance company is going to offer you a best and final on their diminished value offer. You take it or you leave it.

Just switched to authorized Porsche repair, didn't even cross my mind until this thread and being told it will be on car history.

As mentioned above, im not using Authorized Porsche collision repair, but from my understanding if its on my history its going to effect possibility of resale period even if its only a few thousand.

Unless in the situation 18 Panamera turbo same specs no damage Vs mine with damage reported, someone will be okay with paying the same price for something with damage on the report even if its not drivability effecting its still not a clean report if that makes sense? I 100% do not see a dealership not taking off money if it was a trade in because then they have to sell a car with damaged history period.

Im not looking at it as I actually need to sell it because in reality I never will NEED to, but the fact that if I ever wanted to say for example I wanted to get the 2020 Porsche Taycan when they come out or even a 911 because my daughter will no longer need to be rear facing car seat at the time, and I decided i wanted to trade it in for either car then that diminished value will still be slapped on top of the natural depreciating value cars get per year and with even more of my car version on the market by then, it makes it even less likely someone will be willing to pay the same price for my damage reported or am i wrong for thinking of it in this sense?

If they have no estimate to base their number off, would they just pull something out of their ass? From searching about diminished value they say I should get to a dealer as if im trading it in, get their offer and compare it to non damaged same spec value, or if they could note what they would pay without the damage.

Its a 185k 4 door sedan that you laugh at for me buying, so that wouldn't leave much for me to brag about. However it was my compromise for not being able to get a 2 door sports car or etc so im absolutely fine with it.

Full time single parent with an infant, wanting a luxery/high tech vehicle with power that made me happy while also not compromising my ability to haul around a child especially as she gets older, my first vehicle purchase for MYSELF so i wanted to get it built exactly how I wanted. I've yet to have someone think it's a granny drive car in person but to each their own, im sure they would happily trade vehicles.

That’s not the point. You are in absolute hysterics over this. Clearly you don’t have the liquidity to be driving a high end Porsche daily if you’re so rustled you need a lawyer. Should’ve put the money into a college fund for your kid you fuking loser.

Im sure my child's savings account is bigger than your personal one, as with college I transferred my GI bill to her before being retired from the Marines.

You seem more rustled at this thread than I am.

Not sure if you're trolling that hard or serious, to think because I'm trying to see if I need a lawyer or not or going after diminished value from someone else hit & running my vehicle means I cant afford something.

Yes because no one posts their vehicles in their sig or even guns, not sure why you're so triggered or hurt over this. Maybe its the Airforce rivalry getting your panties in a bunch.

LMAO at getting an attorney for a diminished value claim on a car with $900 in damages. You’re gunna pay the attorney more than you get back.

Diminished value has to go thru the other persons insurance, yours won’t address it. Generally each insurance company has someone that handles diminished value claims so after everything’s done with the repairs it’ll be sent to them to review if you request it. Generally they’ll require you to provide support that the value was reduced so you’ll have to do the leg work and find proof by going to dealerships for trade in value comparing that to similar vehicles sold ect. They will then review your support and come up with an offer.

It’s mostly meant for vehicles with much more damage than yours where it will effect resale. 900 in damage ain’t chit and you’ll honestly waste more time and effort than it’s worth unless you really need the $1-200 you’re gunna get. There’s no frame damage, you aren’t replacing parts and if you are they’re probably OEM. It’s honestly not going to be that much bro, they’ll probably just give you a few hundred to go away and quit being annoying.

Lol, you think a new 175k car will have that little diminished value. It'll probably be in the 15k range on a car like that. If it shows up on a car fax no one will want it if it was for sale or they'd want it for a huge price slash like 15k.
You obviously don't know anything about luxury vehicles thinking it'll be a few hundred.

A new owner would know there's a possibility of no factory paint job and hopefully porsche parts. That guarantees the paint from chipping for maybe 5 years. Why would someone buy that instead of a car without accidents unless the price is slashed. Go back to your red neck dirt bikes and leave the talk of luxury cars to the adults

This comes with owning a car. You simply need to embrace the fact that this may occur, but is highly unlikely. Most of that **** never gets reported at all. Especially what damage you have. Research the best body shop. Don't settle for the Porsche garage, because that means nothing. That job will cost more than $900 bucks. Depending on the angle (you can't tell from the pics) they will have to blend part of that front left fender too. Especially with that color. Take the car to the best damn place around, get them to quote it as best they can and send that off to whoever's insurance. Don't back down. This is how it works. You can talk about diminished return during this process (but again this is part of owning a car).

1: Check on Rennlist or your local PCA (join PCA if youre not a member) chapter to get a good shop to repair this. If you ever go to sell the car you can be upfront in the ad and say x shop did it. If an enthusiast is buying it, I don't think they would automatically think of a crazy diminished value. When I look at cars and I see that it's been in an accident (collision), I walk away.

2: Thanks for your service

Just now noticed this. Yea that repair will be well over $900 bucks. Me personally i would want that new door. I would not have them mudding sheet on a car like that. The true concern is the paint blending as I've mentioned before. That's what separates a good shop from a bad.

I guess it's too much to ask that a d bag delivery driver doesn't ram into the door? It's one thing to have money to burn and another to not expect some random dude to devalue what you worked hard for. I think you've missed the point a long time ago.

I paid cash for my car I can afford plenty, doesn’t mean I’ll literally throw money away by not seeking compensation for someone else’s mistake costing me money even if it’s 100.00

You seem to be all over my dick, should I pay you for your services?

new panameras are nice, i had a 4S but sold it after I got my F type because I didn't need two "sports" cars

actually got $10k over what I paid for it back in 2017 because they were still so rare

also, it will cost you at least 10k. My door had to be replaced after hit and run on my 16' X6 and it was $14k all said and done.

A 10-20k car is easier to say car history damage isn't a big deal to still pay whatever price for, versus someone forking out 6 figures and not expecting to get the car in the best shape possible/accident free for spending so much money.

Im assuming you're just trolling, as I said nothing about what I can or cant afford, unless you're one of the idiots in society who would hit an expensive car and go "oh he can afford it, im not leaving insurance to have to pay".
That's more than 900 dollars in damage, esp if you need a new door, lmao. Make sure it gets done right. I had to pay out of pocket for further repair after I saw 6 years later they did a piss poor job when I pulled my trunk mat up
