They need to realise that straight males and particularly white males have and always will be the core of the star wars audience. Why they seem to be obsessed with pandering to women when they make up less than 5% of the fanbase I will never understand. It's just like how marvel made all female characters for a while and it flopped, like no chit? it's almost as if women have never bought comic books.

The only one of the movies that was any good since Disney took over was Rogue One. The Force Awakens was mediocre and the Last Jedi sucked. I haven't seen Solo but I probably won't go out of my way to watch it.

Force Awakens was chit but had the hype of being the first Star Wars movie since 2005
Rogue One = forgettable
Last Jedi = mediocre
Solo = lol

Disney's approach to SW is the equivalent to someone staying in their house all the time. Sure, it's safe and you can have fun some of the time, but you miss all that wonderful chit going on outside.

Disney ruined Star Wars by making the universe smaller and smaller, while Marvel has massive succes because of universe expansion. Both are Disney properties, so the fact that someone hasn't picked up on this is mindblowing to me. Everything is in some way connected to the same characters, planets, etc. from the original movies. Instead of building upon that they just make constant references and throwbacks to chit from the 70's. Sure, seeing the Millenium Falcon in a teaser trailer will make nerds cream their pants instantly, but it's not going to do it for me anymore. Star Wars nowadays is fan service and nothing less.

I will throw all my money at Disney if they go the Old Republic route, something people have been dying to see since the first game. Thing is, mainstream audiences can't digest that chit. They wanna see someone named Skywalker save the day or some chit, and because of this.... I'm out.

Rogue One was the best movie recently. Probably because of the dark ending. The original movies were dark too.

Did this already get shared? Apparently there's a Hollywood producer who's trying to re-cut/re-make the Last Jedi. Rian Johnson got salty over it.

I wonder what would happen if no one complained about the Star Wars movie but no one went to see it. Would it still be a white male conspiracy or would they try to blame something or some other group of people. I’m guessing they would still blame white men somehow but don’t know how they would go about it.
Makes no sense though, you're going to blame straight, white males for a movie being a worldwide flop?

I don't get how people dislike that movie, srs. Had a flaw with too many characters who died that weren't developed, but otherwise that movie was awesome. Nailed classic star wars aesthetics, and some all time GOAT star wars moments.

Over saturation is the problem.

Everything is all good in moderation, but if they drop something every year people are inevitably going to expect each movie to top the last and think it missed the mark if it doesn't (even if it matches it).

Nah alienating the fanbase was the problem. That movie makes 500 million domestic easy if all the stsr wars nerds were still on board seeing it 5x each and tsking their friends/family along.

People used to camp out for days for a star wars opening.

Both. The Last Jedi as a sequel should have made close to what Force Awakens made.

Not close to 800 million dollars less.

Yet, that movie, despite the lack of character development, was leagues above the rest of the sequels thus far. What does that say about them?

100% this srs. Rogue One actually felt like a Star Wars movie to me. If it weren't for the OG actors in the rest of the sequels, it could very well be some generic space shooter B movie to me.

Marvel doesn't have this problem, and they pump out 2-3 movies a year.

Sounds like Solo was "better than expected" but still mediocre. Standards were rock bottom for it.

Force Awakens was good enough but Rogue One is the only other film where they tried. Gareth Edwards did a great job, and they brought on guys that did production/cinematography for Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan. That's a serious effort.

They gave Last Jedi to a guy that had like 2 fukin movies and allowed him to royally fuk up JJ's vision.

Yea I mean I'm not like RedLetterMedia nerd crew status, I don't need to be manipulated with imagery to enjoy the film, but Rogue one nailed several elements of what makes film good. The Last Jedi failed thematically and as a story.

Revenge of the sith and return of the Jedi are the best Star Wars movies (srs empire is slightly overrated)

Last Jedi is terrible by far the worse of the franchise

Disney needs to fire any SJW in power of Star Wars franchise. They should realize its costing them to lose money.

This is why Kathleen Kennedy will fail. You can't rationally alienate your main fanbase and expect to survive. Disney wants to make money. They won't if she alienates white men. White men are probably the main demographic for star wars.

I think you'll find the reason TLJ flopped was because China didn't eat it up along with its other issues. No good showing in China and a large 1-time only show for most people, with no repeat viewings cost them.

You get fooled once theres no point watching it again and the Chinese market will not watch something that doesn't pander to them. Go look at the films which get released over there and note the cock gobbling they do to appease this demographic.
