discuss.

is this the consequence of having a high IQ?
Its because you dont like yourself and the life youve made. You dont have self love or acceptance. This keeps you from loving others deeply.

I have this condition.

130 is good but not exactly super high end academic or researcher levels.

Stop acting like you’re a super being in a society of idiots. If you went to the physics department at MIT in search of ‘kindred spirits’ they’d view you the same way you view ‘normies’.

Just lol if you aren't aware of what the chemicals in the food you eat do to your brain, actually there is nothing funny about it. The fragrances you wear, the screen you're staring into.

These things have been proven to effect the brain.

Can you solve existence and smoothness for the Navier-Stokes Equations?

What do you know of the Grand Unified Field Theory?

This. Sounds like you have a low EQ and just learned to shut off your emotions.

My IQ is 145 and I'm definitely a genius, but my EQ is average or low and because of that I have difficulty regulating my emotions. I'm also super sensitive and empathetic and it sucks.

You don’t have to have a high of to be surrounded by people 2 standard deviations from your iq. Quotas do the same thing. There are far more retarded people than they let you believe.

That's a common misconception. Only 2.5% of people have above a 130 IQ. Plus, high level academics and research don't necessarily equate to high IQ. I read a Harvard study a while ago, after watching Good Will Hunting lol, and the average IQ was around 130 for Harvard students. The range of the study was pretty remarkable. I believe the range of IQ was between 95 and 160. Also, ACT and SAT tests don't test for IQ. They focus more on learned knowledge. Also things like time management, comprehension, and memory are more important in the current versions of those tests. GPA and academic success are based in agreeableness, obedience, competence, and common sense.

I took an IQ test in college and scored a 130. I measured quite high in logical and numerical areas. Although, I don't remember the test name. I will have to see if I can find it. I don't think it was the standard baseline IQ test(s) so I don't know how it compares to baseline IQ test scores. I am not sure of the standard deviation either. But it was pretty thorough.

But the thing with IQ is that there are several different areas which IQ measures. A lot of times people with high IQ don't even do well in school, or are extremely competent in specific areas such as math/science.

Really it boils down to

I didn't say I wasn't - nor did I agree with OP. I said I find some people to be annoyingly slow but that I didn't know if it was down to IQ.

Most people are estimating their IQs / haven't sat a proper IQ test (paid online tests don't count).

I think sometimes this has more to do with becoming "aware" about things in life. Sometimes I really do think that ignorance is bliss.

Sometimes also, overthinkingcan really go against your state of mind. Sometimes you let your mind stray too much into critically analyzing things, and one thought leads to another, and you're in a vicious cycle of analysis -> "truth" -> depression -> analysis -> "truth" etc.

Consciously remind yourself to stop thinking.

Not sure tbh. IQ doesn't necessarily change once you get older though. I would say around the same, but they probably do have some outliers and have a wider range which may skew the average more.

In after the predictable 140+ IQ miscers lol.

No one cares about IQ.......misc has a fascination with it.....but really, no one cares. Go find a field where intellectually demanding work is being done- someone mentioned the physics department at MIT- nobody is going on about IQ, or cares about IQ.

“Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart. The really great men must, I think, have great sadness on earth.”

― Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Good thing my IQ is 75.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

Lol at feeling empathy/guilt for anyone but your family. Same goes for emotional connections, why on earth would there be an emotional connection between two people that have known each other for less than 5-10 years?
