What about volunteering and helping others? Dedicating your life, or at least your spare time, to helping less fortunate people? You will almost certainly be remembered as a great man for helping complete strangers, than you would for helping your own kid like you're supposed to do.

And furthermore, I'll be dead, i won't know if people praise me or curse me in death, and I won't care at all. Its no different than being cremated instead of buried. Burn me and spread my ashes in the ocean, I'm dead who cares.
I mean ok dude, remove yourself from the gene pool if you want, no one is going to stop you lol[/QUOTE] volunteering is for cucks

By this logic, you're a failure unless you have as many children as possible. 50? 60? 100? More?

autism is a rough hand, the other two can be prevented by proper parenting

What are you talking about? Even with the best parenting and counseling, kids can still be fuk ups! Plenty of kids in good families turn into drug addicts.

And peddophiles are apparently mentally pre disposed to it, its nothing you can change with parenting.

I really should pass my genes on, as it'd be a waste, but I'm so selfish far away from being ready that I barely think about it.

I imagine being 60 and having no family would suck. But by then virtual reality will be so good that maybe it won't matter.

I'm quite nihilistic but honestly don't see much point in living if not to reproduce. If I was rich then I'd be impregnating women left right and center.

I'm 38, my daughter is turning 11 next month. I am not very successful overall I openly admit. But when it comes to her I try to be there in her life as much as possible.

And plus I have two second cousins (7 and 10) that look up to me, whom I play a lot of games with.

Also just something I felt like quoting: Being a father doesn't make you a dad, like being male doesn't make you a man.

There's a lot of people don't want children. Not that they cannot, just like I have a great friend on here close to my age who travels, has a successful career, he's in great shape I mean his abs clearly show (in his avi) and he gets laid a ton, he just doesn't want to have kids yet and isn't sure if he ever will. He sent me a message last month about practicing Birth control. He thinks ahead, he doesn't think they will fit with his lifestyle.

Because my brain is set up in a way that I don't find children attractive
A combination of hard work, good familyANDno predisposed to certain mental illnesses that are often found in poverty, drug addicts and homelessness.

Look its a combination of both genetic and good family/social environment. But no, you don't have total control over your children's future.

I am about to be 32 and to me it all depends on if i can find a women that i think would be a good mom and a loyal wife. Loyal wife meaning that she wont want a divorce the second some chad shows some interest in her or when things get hard.

Also another thing that makes me reconsider having kids is that i think life on this earth/planet will get harder and harder in the near future and i am not sure if i want my kid/kids to suffer. I think automation will take away many jobs and with nuclear bombs and corrupt leaders/governments you never know what the future holds but i am skeptical that it will be good.

no. If you are pre disposed to peddo or mental disorders you could pass it on to your kids. Same goes to addiction.

One might argue that a good parent/person wouldn't want to pass that down ie) not have kids.

Except that it is nearly impossible to predict what will and wont be passed down. Many verynormalparents give birth to a child that will later develop a mental disorder.

and like I said, that's a rough hand.

I'm not sure what we're even arguing about at this point. If you're a parent, you do the best you can with what you're given.

If you can look back at the end of your life and honestly say I gave my kids the best chance of success that I could, then you should feel proud

The best chance your parents could of given you is an abortion (not srs)

im 43 and my daughter is 6. I know im not that old to had a child that age but i delayed it for a few years because of self doubt. I thought how can i raise a child when i can barely take care of myself? financially speaking i was also afraid that i wouldnt give my child what my parents gave me. in the end it all worked out even better than my wildest dreams. i look back and then look at my child now thinking about all those wasted years because you can never turn back time.

of course having a partner that made it work was the most important factor in all this.

I'd be much more open to having kids if there weren't so many undependable women who are always looking to upgrade and treat divorce like ordering starbucks. The way the system is setup it is designed to prey upon men who think they are failures if they don't get married and knock someone up. Seems like most guys I know pay child support. The whole child support/juggling weeks and weekends thing just seems sad and depressing for everyone involved.

This is key. Having kids is ****ing easy. I probably have more than one bastard I don't know about. But finding a woman who doesn't already have kids, isn't on a pharmacopoeia of medications, and isn't totally self absorbed and also not a land whale? That's maybe 1/200 women.

lmao

I picture my son growing up to be a mid 30s man posting cynical views about marriage and kids while posting gifs of his bald face on a bodybuilding forum, while bragging about his sexual attractiveness.

That's the day you'll find me hanging from the rafters in the garage.
