There's a Ferrari get together every year in Monterey, CA and by chance I happened to be there on that day one year. Must have seen close to 80 different Ferraris of all years and models driving around town or parked in the lots that day. Lots of really elegant cars. One or two models that were clunkers (to me), but the best-looking Ferraris are like artwork. There's a reason why some of them cost more than $40M now.

Prickly company. Excellent cars. When demand far exceeds supply, you can get away with being a difficult company.
I've heard they won't sell you a new one until you've owned at least one pre-owned car bought from one of their dealerships. But like you said supply and demand. Despite the hoops they make you jump through there's a reason people will stiil wait 2 years to get their hands on one.

This typically only applied to certain models like the F40 & F50, and you were required to drive them! You couldn't make them garage queens.

Their halo cars are even worse. Basically they choose who will get to buy one. They only made 499 Laferraris and only sold them to the most hardcore/high profile owners/collectors. I think the stipulation about having to drive them also has to do with the fact that these cars (and really all cars) will go to pot if you just let them sit. It's pretty much the worst thing you can do to a car. There was a story about a guy who's full time job it is to drive some oil sheik's cars so they don't go to shhit.

That's when you know you have Eff You money. When you can afford to pay a guy to drive all of your super cars and hyper cars just to keep them in operating condition for when you feel like driving one of them.

Not so sure about that. I remember seeing some "how they are built" kind of TV show where everything that went into a Ferrari was made on-site at their yuge factory. Lamborghinis outsource most everything and then the factory is just an assembly process. Quality Assurance is easier with the former, obviously.

Lambo is owned by Audi/VW, so I'm guessing a lot of their chit comes through them eh

But this isn't unusual for top end boutiquey car companies. They generally don't move the volume necessary to justify manufacturing their own stuff so they design, source parts externally, and then assemble it themselves. Koenigsegg might be the only boutique car company that actually manufactures almost everything themselves despite moving tiny volume

You guys got me curious. 2004 Gallardo = $70k
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

Seems most Gallardo's though are running about $90k

You can pick up a F355, Mondial, or 360 in the $60k range.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Ferrari made a massive leap both in terms of styling and performance after the 360 Modena (and the F430) with the 458 Italia

Not sure if phuking srs.

Also any guy with balls already knows this story, it's legendary. Lambos are great, can't really hate on any company that's still making V10 and V12 monsters like that, but Ferraris are phuking perfection brahs. Legit my life goal to own one some day. There's a reason ppl are on waiting lists and deal with all their sht, the cars are GOAT and they are the driver's choice. Most legendary and successful racing team of all time brahs, the tech they use in F1 trickle down to their road cars many years later. The sound of a Ferrari V12s and even their V8s are godly brahs. Again, Lambos are great too and they sound insane but Ferraris are jizz worthy, not to mention they rev to 9-phuking-thousand.

Totally agree. At a certain point I wouldn't care about this or that car being tenths of a second faster. Who gives a shhit? They're all fast af. I just think modern Ferrari's look the best. I've never driven one but people who have say Ferrari's just evoke a certain intangible feeling that can't be replicated.

Knew the backstory of Lamborghini and Ferrari. Always respected Lamborghini for that. And I've always liked their cars more than Ferrari. I can feel more raw passion out of Lambos. While I like Ferrari as well, sometimes their designs feel too "safe" and too "refine".

Ferrari has a very elitist attitude apparently. One the super car guy youtube channels I watch, royalty exotics, said Ferrari told him he's giving them a bad name because he owns a business that rents their cars out to average Joe's to drive.

Still tho that 812 superfast is just ughhhhhhh

I honestly wouldn't buy one if I could. I'd probably use the money to go for real estate or small business loans to local entrepreneurs.

If I had a lot of money, I would buy a nice, comfortable, luxurious SUV. Lots of space, comfortable, and useful for transporting equipment. In a pinch, I could sleep in it too.

While those sports cars are cool, they are made for racing and showing off. Unless you drive it on the track, it is useless. I suppose you might impress sloots, but those aren't the types of sloots you want to wife. And you can get better looking sloots for much cheaper by going to Amsterdam or some chit if that is all you want. So, it really makes no sense to go for these kinds of cars.

They are basically aimed at the incredibly rich as a way to show off. It's like those super expensive designer clothes and chit. Not for me.
