Most software developers in the Bay Area and NYC make $100k as a lower bound. Heck 100k is probably average for entry level jobs in these areas unless you're desperate or lazy and don't study for interviews. If any of you guys's goals is just to have a salary of 100k despite any other circumstances, it's not as hard as you might think, assuming you have the dedication to push yourself for a year and build up a presentable resume.

50-65K would sound more reasonable in any other part of the country... but 100K? lol... be real son.

I made 78k including pension savings, this year working 37h/week and 10 weeks of paid vaccation.
But thats excluding the vaccation savings and milage deductibles, with that probably 85k.
On the other hand i have to pay about 35% in taxes... Feels bad man
When i lived in the US 8 years ago, i made 2300 a month as an intern in Miami. I was living in a brand new condo in a high facility high rise right at the bay and drove a bmw, eating out everyday and drove a bmw. Didnt need any money at that time, would be balling at 100k in miami.

9.15% make 100k or more
And that is for personal income for workers age 25-64
Half of the country makes 30k or less.

I see we are still doing that thing where we pretend nurses make way more than they actually do.

What? This dude saying being a nurse 80 hour weeks are normal, what are you talking about? The only nurse I've ever known working that much was an old Indian lady working two jobs because she was putting her kids through college. The rest of us work 36 hour weeks unless they want to pick up shifts, which most don't do. If I worked 80 hour weeks I would make a quarter million a year with overtime.

I make more than most though, but if you're in California 100k+ is the norm. I would still have to work a bit of overtime, maybe not with bonuses, and I get paid for certifications. Enough to live on and the job I'm at now is pretty easy, I read for 6+ hours on my last night shift.

The vast majority of RNs in this country do not make $100k. Experienced nurses make around $80k, if you're including OT then that's not really a fair comparison of earnings.

If you’re working OT...then okay. But like you said. That’s not necessarily a proper way to gauge it

It depends on the perks
Get paid mileage, expenses, get paid PTO but still allowed to work those days, unlimited overtime, etc
All that brings me to 90-100k a year making mid 30s hourly, never worked over 60 hours a week

Highest paid RN in her department works hella call/OT (surgical department) and she was making about 80k this is someone with like 25-30 years experience too. Of course this is Indiana where rates lower relative to other parts of the country so she would be a 100k nurse in a high wage area.
