How many people here are making over $53 an hour?
100k salary doesn't count if you work 80 hour weeks.

How can people brag about earning 100k+ a year, when you are getting paid chit all per hour, possibly even min wage. Might as well just work multiple fast food jobs!

Yea so what though? These threads always turn into a dikmeasuring contest. The truth is it matters more how you made the money and what you spend it on than the actual amount.
If you increase your income through developing your skills and aiming to be the best at what you do, it's a rewarding experience compounded through a positively reinforced behavioral cycle. If you just "chase money" you might find yourself wondering wtf you're doing 15 years down the line, similar to people who lift just for pussy and stop as soon as their dating life ends.
There seems to be a popular tendency to either believe the end completely justifying the means or that it's all about the journey not the outcome. A more thoughtful approach would be to realize that you can enjoy improving the methods by which you reach your goals while still not losing focus on the big picture and where you are headed. Balance is key imo.

I make $45-47/hr depending on the day as a nurse, with the ability to pick up "bonus shifts" if they need staffing for an extra $10/hour plus overtime. I think one or two of those a month puts me around that but I can't be assed to calculate it. One of my coworkers picks up an extra 12 hour shift every week and made 110k+ after taxes.

There are 52 weeks in a year. 40 hours x 52 weeks = 2080 hours worked per year. $100k / 2080 = $48.07
With this information we can deduce that you sure as hell don't make $100k per year or more.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Poor people measure their money through time. Most people making over six figures are not being paid hourly.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.
