Re: porn. He spent a lot of time insisting his life was normal. I think we all know now it wasn’t. He cared very much what people thought and he in a way had control over it. Porn was easy and safe to blame.

That said, there is like a triangle of red flags for serial killers that cops look for. Cruelty to animals, porn/sex addiction(beyond typical male fluff) and I believe the last is a lack of empathy. I encourage those interested to listen to Ed Kempers interviews. He was a really smart man, and gives great insight into his own crimes as well as generalized about others.

He is interesting because he is very very self aware about it all and is honest. It’s scary how calm and insightful he can be.
Yes Kemper is a great case to study, he tells a lot of things, very insightful

dude unless your a professional pyschologist and are able to have sessions with people you will never know who is a pyscopathy lol I always laugh when people say they know how to spot them impossible without sessions in which they open up or you catch them doing something crazy like killing a animal and enjoying it, etc.

There is so many books, and knowledge on human behavior a pyschopath could easily mimick normal behavior and be undetectable. Back in the day it is a bit harder you don't have as much resources to study such as movies, and books and pictures, etc.
I just want to share the knowledge I have obtained throughout my life and hopefully change someone's life.

I don't know anything about Ted Bundy's childhood and upbringing, but every sociopath I read about in history had a rough childhood with abusive parents. Hitler was abused by his father, Saddam Hussein's father in law abused him, etc. So I think it's the environment they grow up in and their upbringing. Genetics might play a minor role in someone becoming a sociopath but I don't think they are born that way.

I know a girl that I think is a sociopath. She is superficially charming and charismatic, and she is also a pathological liar. She also might have had an abusive childhood because she told me that she use to see a therapist over something that happened in her childhood but she wouldn't elaborate.

It is hard to measure but the Bundy 'potential' is in a lot of people; most are too scared to act on it. In fact Bundy nurtured his own spiral - and you can see how many people understand that simply through people posting the photos of women he managed to seduce to be around him. The women have that 'potential' too - like these women these days who write to felons and want to bang them - they have a dark, dark element in them that goes beyond 'nurture' or whatever. It can be activated by many different things in life but it is there in many, many people.

Same with other high profile professions like surgeons, politicians, church leaders etc. Especially for surgery being a sociopath is probably very advantageous because then you can just cut into another person without emotion and without anxiety.
I think generally speaking, psychopaths spell doom for a company. It's become fashionable with dexter, hannibal, etc for ppl to glorify them, but they are actually just total chit long term.

Yeah he stalked women and sadistically raped and beat them to death and then fukked their corpses...but he had a code. He never and I mean NEVER set fire to a toddler and then ate them with BBQ sauce so he's like not a totally bad person or anything.

I wonder how many everyday "normal" psychopaths (percentage-wise) walk around...cause I'm tired of dealing with them!!!!!
There's a difference between a sociopath and a psychopath. Many government and corporate leaders are sociopaths, but they won't fall in the ranks of Ted Bundy as a psychopath.

lol

I'm not defending him at all, couldn't care less about him or people like him

What I am interested about is what makes them do X and not Y, and why

Perhaps he didn't mess with his step-kid/the woman he was with because it would have been way easier to get caught that way, but maybe he had feels for them, and wouldn't hurt them like he hurt all those other people. And IF he had feels for something, then that questions the whole idea that people like him are entirely cold hearted. Or maybe it was just a cold calculated move that would have put all eyes on him if he touched them

Just speculating to get a better understanding

But then in reality it does seem like both disorders can co-exist in the same person. So not sure what to make of that.

Tried to figure that out for a while and read a lot about it. Eventually decided the details don’t matter because either way it’s just a bad person, someone with bad character. And the terrifying part is that these disorders are actually pretty common. Those people are around you everywhere and the chance of encountering one is pretty high.
How is that a mystery? A sociopathy/psychopathy and narcissistic combo is a huge portion of the prison population. A ton of serial killers are the same way. Not just bundy, Iceman is exactlly the same way too. Completely full of chit in love with himself while having no remorse and painting themself as the victim.

Lmao

You say you studied these personality disorders "for a while", as if to suggest your credibility, but your "conclusion" was "it doesn't matter, it's just a bad person"

LMAO! Instead of saying you studied something for a while and came out at the end with nothing, why not just say that: nothing.

I agree that many people have many of the traits of ASPD, but disagree with you thinking it estimates to be that many more that are 100% full on ASPD.

I believe to truly not have a conscience is that rare.

Yes he was. Of course you can be born a socio/psychopaths. They can appear and still function like normal people that you would see every day. Many are extremely intelligent. They are very manipulative and compulsive liars. Of course they will have scapegoats and humans just love to have a neatly tied up case that's fully explained by some perceived immoral activity.

While upbringing plays a massive role there are killers who have had privileged lives. It's genetics. You have child killers--as in children that have murdered--interviews and within 30 seconds of listening to them you just know they are not wired correctly. A proper Upbringing could help with suppressing psycho tendencies but it's not a guarantee.

Exactly how many serial killers do you know?

Reported to FBI
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I saw an interview with a police detective who knew Bundy and he was adamant that the guy wasn't articulate, or charming or whatever. Said he was a raving idiot and a dissociative psychopath.

I think we are at a stage of existence now where our personal space is so easily observable that we increasingly wear 'masks'. So elements of ASPD are quickly visible and persecuted these days, whereas back then...

And what compounds it is that the ASPD elements won't easily show up unless encouraged. Perhaps a 'popular bully' in childhood would explore more, and more, and the trick would be that nothing in his conscience would make him hold back. But the 'more and more' happens less and less these days.

And it'd be more apparent, I think, if so much of our daily interactions these days weren't through a computer or cell phone.

I think these serial killers are a perfect storm between many different factors. The thing about serial killers you learn that there was usually some pretty f'd up crap from their childhood but then again a lot of kids grow up with crap like that and still turn into normal people for the most part, or at least they don't go around killing people for little to no reason.

I think with some of these people, some feelings are in negative or backwards, where something that would disgust and sicken most of us actually stimulates them towards desire and pleasure.
