My sis:

Heat. Maintenance.

Washing and styling takes ages.

She is active outdoors - gardening, walking, foraging for mushrooms in the forest, swimming in the lake. Long hair is a hindrance.
Cycling, walking, swimming.
No car.

It's easier to not take care of yourself and say "I am not a sexual object" as cope with short hair. With longer hair they actually have to do maintenance to it.

SHort hair on women really really sucks. No exceptions. You show me one girl who looks 'good' with short hair and I'd photoshop long hair on and she would GURANFUKINTEE look 10x better. Aside from Chemo treatments, there should be a law brought down from the heavens that would put any grill with short hair on death row.

It's true that all women look better with long hair than short. For attractiveness, women's hair shouldn't be shorter than chin-length.

That said, there are reasons that some women cut their hair short.

Long hair can take a lot of work to maintain. I remember one of high school teachers who said she envied all the boys with buzzed haircuts; she said she'd shave her head if it were socially acceptable for women too.

Women who are married, have children, and have no need to look good will simply exchange looks for comfort.

And women do suffer from hair loss too. Like men, they will sometimes cut it short to better disguise or conceal it.

I am a fan of short/medium length hair on women.

The examples in the OP are a little too short for my taste. But tbh, let people do the chit that they want to do.

In the same way that I get confused at people getting mad at me for "ruining my face" when I walk around with bruises from boxing, I think you gotta check yourself when it comes to other people. Let people do what they want; your opinion is of little bearing if you do not pay their bills.

They look terrible every time. Never go feminist. At a hipster coffee shop (that doubles as a record store) in my neighbourhood there was this super cute young girl that worked there, shes the daughter of the owner. The most beautiful long black hair, she was an easy 8+. I drop by after a month or two and I just remember how there was this cutie worked there. I walk in there and I'm aghast to discover the beautiful long hair was shaven, bunch of new tats, ears starting to get spaced, septum piercing, etc. I was horrified, I still chat with her as if nothing was unusual, I tried to stay casual. Turns out that there were 2 sisters working there. Both absolutely gorgeous, natural beauties. But man, going feminist is brootal. The one with the short hair is still salvageable, but how do you broach the subject?

Agreed.

My hair is a pain in the ass. It's not perfectly straight or curly, so I can't just wash it and let it dry on it's own. I have to blow it out and use a curling iron or it looks like crap. I still won't cut it short for convenience. Long hair til I die crew.

A month ago I saw a guy at the gas station with the longest hair I've ever seen.

Guy was probably about 6'2" with dreadlocks that were tied in a bun and literally inches from the floor.
