I imagine most people who Fast eat crappy food making them feel crappy, so they go on this detox route.
If you're eating a balanced diet and avoiding fast food I see no reason to fast

Finished 10 1/2 days a few weeks ago, nothing but water. lost about 17 lbs.
brb skin tight, clear, and smooth af
brb senses elevated
brb auto****y
brb jawline and cheek bones
brb veins in stomach
Around day 5 getting up from a seated or supine position requires time since bp and energy has cliff dived, you'll get light headed but used to it
OP I'd be surprised if you made it, the jump from 40 hours to 10 days is like training for a couple miles running and then attempting a marathon.

There are claims that fasting produces metabolic advantages over sustained low calorie diets through induced hormonal changes. Eating 500 calories a day could be substantially worse than eating nothing for an extended period of time in terms of BMR.
The whole idea that the human body would ignore fat stores and just jump into consuming muscle and limiting energy as soon as food intake stops is seriously retarded. It's crazy that people actually believe that theyneedto eat every day, let alone more than once a day.
I'm going at least six days on my current one. Challenge decreases substantially after day two. I don't really see why this couldn't go on indefinitely with a bit of sodium intake, presuming adequate body fat.

This was over the course of 5 years, I've failed a ton all within the first 48-72 hours, after that hunger recedes, and feels the same after day 5 and beyond.

Walked about 3 miles today. Going to try to at least walk daily as long as I have the energy. Only 1 tiny bowel movement today. Not sure what to expect going forward.

why not just commit to a regular diet...
all these sensationalist "fasts" and "detox diets" starting popping up when twitter became the #1 news source
