The take away is that - to win, youhaveto envision yourself winning. but youdon'twin every time you envision it.

As for presidents, I'll just write a few lines.
Most American president come from affluent backgrounds. Most had parents in positions of power. Most went to ivy schools. Those are not the circumstances of average people.
Americans still believe the lie of the American dream where meritocracy prevails and significant social mobility happens.
Reality is much more cynical.
I don't want to go on a tangent. I'll make another thread about the American dream fallacy next time

Yes, some people are in position to actually win. And those people should run. Nothing wrong with taking an accurate view of your odds and running based on that.

Thank you for that. You’re acting as if I’m hiding something and you’ve unearthed a meaningful statement. I don’t know about your ban or what that’s about, sorry if you’ve let that control you life. I didn’t realize the dependency you have on that ability to post here.

It's the hard truth that most people aren't willing to accept. It's much comforting to keep believing in a lie that gives some kind of false hope. Humans are optimistic by nature and will do anything to run away from the sometime sad reality of life.

Jeff Bezos voluntarily left a high-paying job to pursue an idea that literally everyone thought was absurd. If not for his CLEARLY rock-solid belief in himself, he never would have taken that risk. How do I know that? Because people who coast through life ("everything is predetermined") wouldn't behave in that manner as it makes no logical sense to do so (leaving comfort for uncertainty). No, "believing in yourself" doesn't mean that your stupid business idea is going to become Amazon because you "willed it so", but to pretend that people like Jeff Bezos aren't actively projecting their mindset of success 24/7 is absurd. There are people who are smarter than Jeff Bezos who suffer from crippling self-doubt (despite their "genetic gifts") who don't accomplish anything. Success in business relies on luck and timing and many other factors, but I can guarantee you that every business mogul alive shares one common trait: they all undoubtedly believe in their vision, regardless of what they are told by the outside world.
Athletes? Athletics are 50% mental. There is only so much biologically possible variance in athletic ability at the elite end of the spectrum (ie: Pro sports), such that mindset plays a huge factor in the actual output. Do you believe that Michael Jordan was twice as athletically gifted as everyone else on the court? Did he practice twice as hard? Or did his freakish mental mindset (which is highly publicized) differentiate him from countless other players who were just as athletic and skilled from a technical standpoint? Pro sports are littered with guys who are billed as the "next great thing" who ultimately fail because they lack the mental trigger which enables success. What you'll find is that across all sports, the so called "GOATs" all share an innate ability to seemingly bend the game around them which allows them to exert their own control. Yes; natural talent and athleticism and hard work are a prerequisite to greatness in every sport, however, Michael Jordan is Michael Jordan because before he even takes the last shot with the game on the line, he already knows that the ball is going in. It is a freakishly high level of belief in self which enables that.

I know some of you are just negative nancy's on this forum - but do you act like this in RL at work?
I've spoken to people who are self-deprecating, and it's honestly the most cringe thing to hear. You'd think grown adults would have more of a grasp on their life. I don't even think I've ever heard this type of stuff spewed from my parents growing up. Being an adult I can see everyone has a moment of weakness, but this is just pathetic.

Mindset is literally everything. To believe that what you think doesn’t drive your actions is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.
Nice troll post brah

These clowns can't even comprehend that there are literally people out there (a LOT of them) who hold jobs that they have no business holding all because they were delusional enough to apply for them, and they actually BELIEVE that they are there on merit LMAO.
